I'll never have any understanding for anybody going down to Triple-A feeling sorry for themselves or dwelling on it or having an attitude, because the reality is that it's been shown every single year that there are going to be people chosen from there to help us. So go down there and get after it. It's a no-brainer for me."

Well, at least Wedge is speaking from personal experience.
Not sure how this squares with his little man-crush on Barfield, though.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
my thoughts exactly.
yes, go read the whole thing. i cherry picked this quote out, but there’s some good stuff in there.
He’s no Jay Levin, but it’s amazing what difference a good interviewer makes.

Actually … the 2005 club was the exception to the rule. You’d be hard-pressed to find anyone on that club whom the Indians sent down in the spring and who then came back to contribute. Fernando was pretty much the only one. We had five starters make 158 starts, eight good relievers for seven spots, and the lineup hardly changed all season.

Ok I’ve got to admit something: I’m the guy that registered FireEricWedge.com a few years ago (2006, probably).
The domain came up for renewal during last season and I let it go. Honestly, I think I’ve come around on Wedgie. He seems to be one of the few managers who is able to realize his mistakes and change his strategy, but not in a knee jerk (Bob Brenley) kind of way.
If we can just work on the bunting, I’d say we’ve got one of the top five managers out there.
I read that as “stop doing it so much, especially with prospects”

That’s a gutsy admission (not sure I could have done it). Back in 2006 Wedge was still a question mark to most of us, but he won me over last year. I give him a lot of credit for what the Tribe did the second half of the season.
