when i filled out my bracket, i had just read lastoria’s post on Brown, so i had him advancing to the finals. blew my bracket to pieces.
I wish I hadn’t fallen in love with Hodges’s full court press.
Though I look right at home, I still feel like an exile

In general, with considering the entire field and without any disrespect, I’ve gotta go with Ty Cobb as the best option. Of course, it’s hard not to pick the best ballplayer to ever play the game – even if he’s dead.
Still the local "Barfield Bounces Back Believer" and confident that there's still a lot of Pronk in Hafner. Oh, and for all the love of Cliffy, there's still a Sleepy Kitten inside.
Love it. I think Aubrey was pretty disappointed to not get an invitation, which might explain his loss to Jared Head in the NIT.
I have a friend who trained himself to write exactly how he wanted. He made up his own script, went through every letter, figured out how he wanted them to fit together. Trained himself to do all the letters fast.
It was cool handwriting but seemed like overkill.
might be worth it if you taught math, so your students would be bathed in awesome every time you wrote something on the board… though then you’d also have to practice half the Greek letters and a bunch of symbols…

This is your best piece of serious analysis yet. Barfield had a pretty easy path to the PR title bout, no? He had to get past (a) an unathletic first baseman, (b) nobody, (sí) a backup catcher.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Looks like you’re going to have to revise. Crowe and Gimenez optioned to AAA camp, Graffanino still around.
I had a feeling Graffanino wasn’t quite down for the count. Of course he was injured for most of last year, but over 06-07, he showed above-average range at 2B (per RZR) in about 85 games and well above-average in 50 games at 3B. I know they keep throwing guys in the outfield, but we don’t really need outfielders as much as we need a little insurance at 3B. Graffanino essentially combines Barfield and Marte’s defensive skills in a single player.
Main question is, what do you do with Barfield then? I wonder if they aren’t trying to work a trade. Or maybe one of the other Columbus non-starters (Aubrey, Marte, Toregas) is going to end up in Akron or released. We don’t have a clear option for a cheap utility guy after 2009, so you would think they wouldn’t be quick to let Barfield go.
