Game Thread: Indians vs. Giants, March 27
The Tribe plays a road game against some guys who may or may not play in San Francisco this year. Lineups per Castrovince:
INDIANS: CF Grady Sizemore, 3B Mark DeRosa, 1B Victor Martinez, SS Jhonny Peralta, C Kelly Shoppach, RF Ben Francisco, 2B Asdrubal Cabrera, LF Josh Barfield. LHP Cliff Lee.
Also available to pitch: RHPs Rafael Betancourt, Joe Smith, Jensen Lewis.
GIANTS: CF Andres Torres, LF Eugenio Velez, RF Nate Schierholtz, 3B Pablo Sandoval, 1B Rich Aurilia, SS Juan Uribe, C Buster Posey, 2B Kevin Frandsen. RHP Jonathan Sanchez.
With the exception of Barfield in the outfield, that's pretty much a regular lineup, with actual real-life major league pitchers. No DH, so no Hafner bloop doubles. Discuss.

for those that haven’t heard. we might get an update mid-game from the broadcast, too.
Gameday link that I wonder why they don’t promote.
Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.
Yea, there’s a link to it from the normal one. I almost clicked it yesterday, and maybe I should’ve. It’s nice not having to exposé to it.

Top of the first summary:
- Sizemore bunt single
- SB, error allowing Grady to take 3rd
- DeRosa GO
- Martinez K
- Peralta K
Sanchez gave up a lot of runs last year, but struck out a bunch of guys, too.
“and the Indians look sloppy here in the bottom half of the first inning”
DISCLAIMER: I may be bitter.
Stop it

it seems that way. he’s on that list of “why throw this guy any strikes?” list. along with “OBP is overrated overrated” B-Phil
But this could be where Barfield gets at-bats, no? Our other outfielders are lefties, unless you count Garko.
True story: up until partway thru last year, I always thought he was a righty. Left is right, black is white.

it was whether they knew if there was a face-batter or game action time-table.
they just reitrerated the next step – slider from flat ground this weekend.
he did ask soloff, but there just isn’t an answer yet. they’re taking it step by step.
i don’t know. barfield has not sounded impressive in the outfield. just had one get past him on what sounded like because of a bad route.
That’s why we’ve got the slick-fielding Dave Dellucci around.

Did Raffy get hurt or was he taken out because of ineffectiveness? I know in yesterdays game, he seemed to have tweaked a hammy…

I hope Wedge ripped into the team after the game today. Spring training is spring training, but they looked like one of the stalls at old Municipal at the end of a Browns game in the first inning. Lee was bad, but his team certainly wasn’t doing him any favors. And to his credit, Lee was getting a lot of swings and misses.
