Annual-spotting thread
I thought it might be nice to put the locations where the Indians 2009 Annual could be found all in one thread. I purchased mine at the Borders in Cleveland Heights, and the Borders in Strongsville has also been mentioned (with visual evidence!).
So anyone else who spots the Annual in magazine racks around the Cleveland area, post here to let everyone know.
Really, is the difference between 63 words and 75 words all that much? I don't think so.

I called both B&N and Borders in north Columbus (Polaris area) to see if they had the Annual, but neither of them had it and it wasn’t in their computer system to order. So I guess I’ll have to order online and pay the $5 shipping. Oh well.
Jay’s interviews are posted on the right hand side of the Indians Annual page on MSP. They’ve got a weird frame thing going on with their site, but the main link isn’t hard to navigate from: here.

Very nice interviews. Kenny Roda is hilarious. He definitely had not seen the Blyleven pic; otherwise he would have offered more than a stale Chris Berman ripoff.
It’s a little worrying that so many people in the Cleveland area have been to bookstores, searched for the Annual, and could not find it.
I’ve looked in a couple Giant Eagles and a CVS in Stark County, and neither had them. Next stop is the local Borders.
Roll that beautiful Annual footage…
The stack is decidedly smaller than the picture shown after my wife emptied it out to send to everyone she knows, Indians fan or not.
Sorry, I can’t figure out how to do images on here, so the link is the best I can do.

In case I didn’t make it clear, that picture is from the Books-A-Million store at Westgate that Jhon references.

Hmmm…guess I should have checked out grocery stores. I figured bookstores would have it before Kroger and Giant Eagle but I guess I was wrong.
I know – I hit Borders first having tried Barnes and Noble the night before. Pretty sweet, two annuals and Fuelperks!
Imagine two guys with British Accents:
Wha you been, Theodore
I’ve been annual spawtting.
Travis Hafner is overrated. Clarity is underrated. David Dellucci is David Dellucci.
When first read this title I was thinking that this was our yearly “spotting” thread, although I wasn’t too sure what we were looking for.

Just curious, has anyone seen the Annual on sale in West Akron, like around Summit Mall?
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
i’ve never heard “West Akron” before. Has Akron gotten bigger since i left the area now that it needs sub-regions?
Just trying to find something convenient for my parents, who aren’t extremely mobile.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
my bro in law works in akron (not sure which coast). i’ll have him look around on his lunch hour…

Solon Giant Eagle’s got a ton of ’em (minus one that went home with me.)
That stack is adjacent to a stack of MSP’s Red Sox annual (minus one that got dropped in the Depends section nearby)
Very excited about this, and thanks to everyone for all your work. I’m flying to Goodyear next week and am really going to try to save this for the plane.
Couldn’t help but peek, though, at a stoplight, and the Eric Wedge picture & caption on page 35 was worth the cost all by itself.
Uh, in my fruitless effort to find the annual, I was completely frustrated at the West 117th Street Giant Eagle when finding the Red Sox annual instead of the Indians edition. I was initially pleased to see the Maple Street Press logo only to greeted by the weasely face and beady little eyes of you know who on the cover. It’s like some kind of cruel joke. To make matters worse, there were only two copies left so I assume some creeps actually bought some there. I am at the point where I have wasted far more than $5 (what I should have paid for shipping) in time and gas trying to locate the annual in Cleveland proper.

Sorry for your frustration. The publisher if very interested in finding out about these incidents, so please keep reporting if you see the wrong book in any store.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Can the publisher let you know if any place in the city of Cleveland has the annual? I scoured west side bookstores, the downtown magazine stands and a handful of grocery stores to no avail.

I already struck out at the Tower City Borders.

At the Tower City Borders downtown? I was in there on the 9th and they didn’t have any then. When did you see it there?

Just got a note from Jim Walsh, founder/CEO of MSP. He considers it shocking that it’s that hard to find. He note that you can’t go anywhere in Boston without seeing the Red Sox Annual. He seems determined to figure out the problem.
So, thank you again for the detailed reports, and everyone, feel free to submit more info.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Just snagged a copy that was sandwiched in between copies of the Cubs and the Cardinals annuals. I looked through those and they looked pretty good visually.
I’ll be cracking open mine tomorrow morning on my flight to Sky Harbor.

It was at the Giant Eagle on Bunts Avenue and Detroit Avenue in Lakewood. I don’t shop at Giant Eagle, but figured I should give another one of their locations on the west side of Cleveland a stab before heading off on vacation.
