Because I'm sure you all want to see the suckitude of the season so far represented graphically.
Y-Axis is games over/under .500.

Thanks, that really brightened my evening.
I never learned to read.

Only really one identifiable trend so far.

Not only are we bad, but we are screwing up such a colorful pattern!

Hey, look. We were tied for first on April 5.

this graph is exactly what my preseason hopes/expectations were, flipped along the x-axis.

The real question is, why is the Royals’ line yellow?
by Logodaedalus on Apr 15, 2009 12:07 PM EDT reply actions 0 recs
Because blue was taken? I think the line is supposed to be considered gold.
by matt7 on Apr 15, 2009 7:11 PM EDT up reply actions 0 recs
Exactly. I mean, blue can’t be for both the Tigers and Indians and Royals.

I guess technically gold is one of the Royals’ colors… Their uniforms have actually never been purple, have they? I have that ingrained in my brain for some reason.
Anyway, it doesn’t matter.

Thankfully we play in the American League’s Central Division. It ain’t always pretty.

See, what’d I tell ya?
One has to keep his foot on the bag while posting. Fundamentals. In light of all this two-strike approach talk I have a new found appreciation for the small stuff.

Volt assures me that his race charts are the best anyone could possibly imagine.
Volt, maybe you’ll do me this favor, then. Present an updated version of this graphic, except with the axes reflecting a realistic scale for a full season:
- X-Axis shows day 1 through day 183, with only the first 11 days already filled in of course.
- Y-Axis shows -20 up to +20, a range within which the vast majority of team seasons fall.
That will give us some real perspective on what’s happened so far and what it means.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I didn’t think it was intended to be realistic.
Some of us are venting a little. I’m glad Fearless Leader has his head on straight, but this encapsulates the season for the rest of the paeans.

I have done nothing of the sort.
I apologize for attempting to contribute to the community. Apparently that means I have a rather large ego.

Apparently my comment came off rather differently than I intended. I only meant to say that you’d asserted some degree of expertise in race charts, which frankly I took at face value.
My request for a differently scaled race chart wasn’t meant as critical of what you already posted, I just think it would be nice to have that as well for some perspective.
In other words, I have no problem with what you posted at all, and I am relying on you to be the expert.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I further endorse this. Full season race chart!

Your comment did come off rude, but I was in a rather [adjective] mood last night and and took it far more personally than intended.
Your comments are completely correct. On a full-year scale this is tiny. This was posted in the “over-reactions” mood, and a full-year one that I spent more than five minutes on would be far more helpful. I can get a full season chart up later tonight. Then it becomes – how frequently should I post an updated one? Weekly? Monthly? Tell me, LGT.

Like once every 16.2 games, or so?

I imagined a better one. It looked similar to this one, but that red line went up instead of down.

I can count today’s win as like 10 wins. It seems about right.
