Pulled off the PA turnpike to find a sports bar for the end of the game. Strolled into “Legends” at the Holiday Inn, Mechanicsburg, PA. We scored two runs to go up 5-2 within my first 90 seconds here.

I hate driving the PA turnpike, it feels like you’re driving through a DMZ, there’s so much concrete.

Interesting side note to pass along:
Nebraska Cornhusker football coach Bo Pelini is a big Indians fan. He grew up in Ohio and played for the Buckeyes (I think). He sent Kelly Shoppach a package of Husker gear the other day after he met Shoppach during spring training. I cover the Nebraska football team for my college newspaper. I’m going to ask him at practice today about his thoughts on the season.
I don’t know anything about him. Does he have a personality?

Ok so while we’ve got a pause in the action, can I ask an MLB.tv question? Overall I like the new interface, but is there a way to make the “Jump to Inning”, pause/skip controls NOT show up every time I mouse over the window? That’s infuriating.
Why not Wood? He’s pitched in two freaking games!

Fact is, in seriousness, Branch Rickey ended segregation in MLB. Robinson’s contribution was being a superstar player while bearing the weight of a lot of abuse.
But, you know, Obama is a White Sox fan, so the hell with it.

To take it further, Rickey (and Veeck also) was far more interested in marketing dollars than in social equality. I’m not carrying the banner for the P.C. police. And I don’t think any of what was said diminished any of their accomplishments, nor does criticizing the ridiculous tribute.
