The Indians have signed RHP BLAINE NEAL, 31, to a minor league free agent contract and assigned him to AAA Columbus…He last pitched in the big leagues w/Boston & Colorado in 2005 and overall has appeared in 113 Major League games w/FLA, SD, BOS, COL (5-4,5.08ERA,124.0IP, 161H, 70ER, 93K) …Owns a minor league career record of 31-22 w/a 2.67 ERA in 353 games (6GS, 112SV, 444.2IP, 400H, 132ER, 408K)…Spent 2008 in AAA Toledo (Detroit org, 1-0, 1.21ERA, 38G, 26SV)…Originally a 4th round pick of the Marlins in the 1996 draft.

I hate this signing. I hate it. Blaine is not a baseball name. No way is this a good signing, Blaine doesn’t pitch, he sells stocks or real estate.

Neal, Raffy P, and Meloan pitched 4 innings aften Cassel’s disaster tonight. They didn’t allow any runs between them in those 4 innings, but gave up 5 walks, 5 hits, to go with 5 Ks.
