Doesn't it sometimes feel like the real game is something like, Victor and Asdrubal vs. the other 23 guys on our roster?

Both “Wanted Dead or Alive” and “Closing Time” have been stuck in my head all day. You can all imagine my pain.
You know something? “Feeling Strangely Fine” is a damn good album.

Off hand, I don’t know enough Seminsonic to judge. But I do like Closing Time, so I could give it a shot. Bon Jovi, however, is another story.
It’s just really well-executed pop. It’s not transcendent or anything, but their musicianship is legit.
Bon Jovi, well, I respect Bon Jovi the way I respect professional wrestlers. They found something that works for them.

I’m with you on Bon Jovi. “You Give Love a Bad Name”, though, I’ve recently come around on. That song is pretty epic.
I have a pretty negative initial reaction to that early-80s power-pop production, hard for me to get past. Like, I recognize that there are fun .38 Special songs, but I think they’re unnecessarily hard to listen to.

Bavasi pretty much restocked the whole AL Central. Thornton for Borchard, Detroit getting Carlos Guillen for basically nothing, and of course the Indians.
“He’s capable possibly of hitting 20 home runs.”
Possibly? Victor hit 25 in his last healthy season, and 20 and 23 in two other seasons.
Rick Manning was capable possibly of hitting 10 home runs. But he never did.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Is sending Lewis out for a third inning wise?

Just thinking that. 30 pitches seems to be Jensen’s limit. He’s finally doing well, why push our luck?

Did I mention before that while I like having LaPorta in the lineup, I hate having him at 1B?
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
I think Garko has been great at covering the base. The other stuff, meh.
Sometimes, I just like to b****.
The only thing Garko does well is catch pop flies, as far as I can tell. Mediocre around the bag, and still going after the wrong balls after four years playing the position.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
To explain: As near as I can tell, this is only LaPorta’s fourth game at first base in his entire pro career.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
The easiest way to get out of a team slump is to bench guys for days then play them at unfamiliar positions.

Manning, at some point, you have to credit the guy’s 4.2 40-yard-dash speed and not just his hustle and awareness.

Ah… the old 2-base wild pitch while we have Grady getting thrown out trying to steal 2B for no real good reason

Matt Herges warming.
I cannot get over him pointing into the air when Jason Bay hit the ball in the air, as if it say that it’s an infield popup. Then, the ball landed over the fence.
Not trying to support the White Sox but does Jenks really deserved to be fined 3/4 of a million for a pitch that didn’t even hit a batter?
His former agent, Matt Sosnick, is on record as saying that Bobby Jenks is the only client he doesn’t regret losing, because Jenks is perhaps the worst human being he’s ever met.
Actually, I think it was 750 nickels. But he has to count them out himself.

I would have settled for our only scoring one with the bases loaded.
I would have settled for them only scoring one with the bases loaded.
Our chance of winning this game is about the same as our chance of making the postseason … right around 11%.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Seems everytime this year the Tribe has the bases loaded, squeezing runs is impossible. I knew after DeRosa k’d that Choo wasn’t going to do it. And I had a bad feeling that after Sipp got Fields that Corky was going to get a hit. Conclusion: Indians suck hitting with the bases loaded. And also suck pitching with bases loaded. How many two-out hits?
Is it weird if I still feel like we win this game?

Yea, me too. It bums me out that 95% of Summer blockbusters do nothing for me. Especially since most of them play upon my childhood nostalgia.
Summer movies are entirely bad. I looked through all of this Summer’s releases, I think I saw two, three tops, that I want to see. And I think that includes that Denzel movie that comes out in the very beginning of June.
I’m a big Cormac McCarthy fan, but I hated this book. Although I thought No Country for Old Men (the book) sucked, too.
I don’t read those types of magazines. And that’s precisely why—that’s enlightening journalism there.
I’m not putting any woman who was mentioned here down, it’s just a trend I’ve noticed. Women are looking more and more masculine as time goes on.

I have a problem with the desire of some celebrities to weigh under 100 pounds. They lose a lot of their good “qualities”
I just have a problem with celebrities in general. I like baseball, but I don’t need pictures of what Victor Martinez wore to eat lunch on Wednesday before he came to the stadium. Yet that kind of crap fills magazines.

If DeRosa was for some unfortunate reason dealt this deadline, I wonder if we’ll see Peralta at 3B for a half-season, Marte with the call, Hodges’s pretend 3B play, or Jamey Carroll’s encore.
Because that’s what a utility player does.

I’d like to be critical of people for not being better writers, but I wonder how much of it would be me criticizing them for not having wonderful teachers like I did. Basically, i don’t know how anybody learns to write without getting clobbered with remedial grammar, and I don’t know many teachers who can do remedial grammar.

Even before Sowers gave up that second homer it finally really hit me that this guy will never even be a #5 starter in our organization. The only reason he can get outs is because he is deceptive. So, it works the first time through the lineup. Then the second time in the lineup he avoids/walks the guys who can hurt him and then ends up putting a crapload of guys on bases. Couple that with his propensity to give up a homers and it Makes the big inning inevitable.
Which makes me think that maybe he should have been the choice for reliever instead of Laffey. While Laffey would be more effective in high leverage situations, he is much more likely to give you a quality start than Sowers is.
Ugh.
Ever since I saw Sowers pitch, I already felt that he will end up in the NL (NL West specifically, since they have those big ballparks) That was my initial impression of him and still is until now.
Not if the Nationals get first crack at him. And they always do!
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Two years ago, Herges drank the magic water. He was the lighting in a bottle that was the Colorado Rockies. Let’s hope he saved some.
This is a AAAA lineup we are facing. It’s kind of sad we allowed them to score as many runs as they did.
I was watching the Oscars and realized I have never seen a movie with Meryl Streep. I found this odd considering how many awards she has won

The leads are good. Amy Adams is a little cloying. The dialogue gets increasingly stilted. Maybe a 6 or 7 out of 10 if you’re the patient sort. I liked Star Trek better.

Wedge needs to go as soon as possible. I feel as if we’ve reached that dangerous area where the interests of the organization and the interests of the coach are going in different directions.
They have the same interests—winning. Of that I’m sure. But they’ve underperformed their Pyth in 5 of 6 seasons with him. I don’t know how to explain that.
Enough of that old argument. There’s no evidence that’s the manager. Something new, please.
