I find it very hard to believe the Indians will trade a starting pitcher with a year left on his contract. I don’t see any scenario in which the team doesn’t view itself as a serious contender in 2010, but they need Lee on the team to do so.

I don’t think that’s a fair analogy. Canada is in North America; there’s a baseball team there.

It would be like you living in Japan and some Americam (or Canadian) being involved in a very popular sport there and you cheering for him because you relate to him. Which, really doesn’t seem all that bizarre.

There actually is no excuse for not putting Grady in at that point, with one out remaining and the tying run at the plate.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

It turns out that Carl Willis is the person who makes those decisions, and he had been ejected.

Crawford actually caught that one. Unlike before, when he didn’t.

by woodsmeister on May 17, 2009 5:12 PM EDT reply actions

He caught it before, it was just on the bounce.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Question about “days off” in baseball….is it really that taxing to pick up a bat and take like 5 swings? Please?

by supermarioelia on May 17, 2009 5:13 PM EDT reply actions

Physically, pretty taxing. Mentally, it takes a ton to focus every day, which compounds the physical exhaustion. Anyway, a single day off is huge. Two days in a row off doesn’t do anything.

Wedge wanted to give Grady 2 straight days off

we scored a lot of runs in the series. misplaced focus

Warming up, stretching, taking BP and possibly defensive practice, reviewing scouting reports, getting mentally prepared.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

What happened? I leave the room and everyone acts like there was a tease.

It was still a semi-winnable game in the 9th, thats a tease around these parts.

by USSChoo on May 17, 2009 5:16 PM EDT up reply actions

Tying run was at the plate, my man.
