Okay. Pitched around Wells.

by xrickx on May 5, 2009 2:24 PM EDT reply actions

soooo…is he pitching around Lind, too?

by DontCallMeJoey on May 5, 2009 2:25 PM EDT up reply actions

I just stopped by and am shocked that there’s a day game.

I should check the schedule more.

I just want to believe.

…not again…

Ben Francisco: An Outfielder only on baseball cards and roster sheets.

by westbrook on May 5, 2009 3:52 PM EDT up reply actions

It would be nice to have a SS that can make a play in the hole.

by Toxicadam on May 5, 2009 2:26 PM EDT reply actions

On GameDay, that pitch looks like it’s right in the middle of the plate, about belt-high.

Sometimes, I just like to b****.

by emd2k3 on May 5, 2009 2:26 PM EDT reply actions

It was outside. He just hit it where it was pitched. Groundball. Nothing special.

by xrickx on May 5, 2009 2:27 PM EDT up reply actions

Of course. Their 25 year old DH doesn’t try and pull everything, and look at the year he’s having.

by xrickx on May 5, 2009 2:26 PM EDT reply actions

Stop it right here. RIGHT HERE. No more!

by dgcambridge on May 5, 2009 2:26 PM EDT reply actions

Ok, I should’ve stayed away.

I just want to believe.

by mjmarble on May 5, 2009 2:27 PM EDT reply actions

I like Reyes still. He limits the damage.

by Toxicadam on May 5, 2009 2:27 PM EDT reply actions

As long as he doesn’t come back out for the 7th, I like him too. He just earned me a QS on my fantasy team.

Now c’mon offense – get us some more runs!

I just want to believe.

by mjmarble on May 5, 2009 2:28 PM EDT up reply actions

Let’s get some runs plz.

by zempf on May 5, 2009 2:27 PM EDT reply actions

How did Peralta not get to that?

"I didn't realize his velocity was that high," said Macha, noting that radar readings aren't flashed during exhibition games.

FAT SHORTSTOP.

Sometimes, I just like to b****.

by emd2k3 on May 5, 2009 2:28 PM EDT up reply actions

No chance. Hit to hard. Maybe Ozzie Smith gets it.

by xrickx on May 5, 2009 2:28 PM EDT up reply actions

You think? I think he looked slow as all hell.

"I didn't realize his velocity was that high," said Macha, noting that radar readings aren't flashed during exhibition games.

Thought it was solid, it got out to Sizemore pretty fast

by Roger Dorn on May 5, 2009 2:31 PM EDT up reply actions

Shhh …. we are still in denial over his range.

by Toxicadam on May 5, 2009 2:28 PM EDT up reply actions

You called Jhonny a lUzr. ::har har::

by Toxicadam on May 5, 2009 2:31 PM EDT up reply actions

Who pitches the 7th?

by dgcambridge on May 5, 2009 2:28 PM EDT reply actions

Not Reyes.

by mjmarble on May 5, 2009 2:29 PM EDT up reply actions

Chulk.

I just want to believe.

by mjmarble on May 5, 2009 2:29 PM EDT up reply actions

Chulk. No question.

by Toxicadam on May 5, 2009 2:29 PM EDT up reply actions

Reyes continues. Only one batter had a good swing on him that inning.

I say Reyes. One baserunner and he’s out.

by dgcambridge on May 5, 2009 2:30 PM EDT up reply actions

With a strong, rested pen, I would have said otherwise.

by dgcambridge on May 5, 2009 2:37 PM EDT up reply actions

We better score one more. I’m sick of giving rookies their first wins.

by Toxicadam on May 5, 2009 2:30 PM EDT reply actions

That rookie has walked 60 guys in 185 minor league innings. Not a bad rate, but not good, either. Today, of course, he walked none. If the Indians would have been patient, Cecil wouldn’t have lasted five innings.

by xrickx on May 5, 2009 2:32 PM EDT up reply actions

I don’t think this umps strikezone has encouraged people to be patient.

by Toxicadam on May 5, 2009 2:33 PM EDT up reply actions

He’s not been too bad. He’s missed a few calls for each side. But the Indians have just hacked today.

by xrickx on May 5, 2009 2:35 PM EDT up reply actions

it just hit me in the face with force: we suck so bad…SO bad. f

actually, maybe it has to do with his “long season, everything averages out” philosophy. relievers don’t get the kind of playing time for that to work (small sample size, etc.). he has to go with who is hot and stay away from who is not (everyone).

Heh. I was (accidentally) informed by my brother the other day that my birthday gift this year will be a bunch of us going to the Cards game on June 14. I am kind of wondering now exactly what team I am going to see by the time this rolls around.

And, maybe, who will be running it.

by tabler84 on May 5, 2009 3:43 PM EDT reply actions

Reyes pitched really well. He gave up a couple cheap hits in his worst inning, and a few long flyouts early. However, he pitched well enough for the win, and that kind of performance we should take every time from him

by Roger Dorn on May 5, 2009 3:46 PM EDT up reply actions

Right, but that’s not the point. We’re all desperate for anything from our starters, so a decent start is like a perfect game. I mean, we need starters getting to the eighth inning. We need length.
