Dr. Andrews okays Hafner
Apparently, just ordinary soreness from the surgery.
Not sure I buy it, but better than some of the alternatives.

They better start putting Dellucci into the outfield so he can run into a wall or pull a hamstring or something.

Not that we can’t use the bat, but if Hafner crawls back in this and LaPorta shows he’s ready for duty, I wonder if Dellucci doesn’t turn into a decent chip.

I read this and thought, “Weee, he’s fine! He’ll come back strong! Just like his old… the guy that hit all those… Sigh. I can’t do this.”

We’ll be climbing back to the pronk of the standings in no time.

“Everything’s cool, but Travis has decided to stay in Birmingham for a few months. He might even get a house there. He might be back next year, maybe.”

Shapiro addressed this last night during his game interview with Hamilton.
Shapiro expressed the possibility that Hafner will come off the DL the first day he is eligible to do so. While he didn’t say so I think that was based on the assumption that Hafner would not have a rehab assignment. My guess is that he’ll play two or three games in the minors and absent something unexpected will be back within two weeks.
Unless Dellucci goes something like 1 for 23 going forward or LaPorta puts up monster numbers LaPorta goes back to Columbus.
In calling up LaPorta the Tribe viewed him as a short-timer and strong evidence will be required to change their mind.

I don’t think it’s a situation where he needs a rehab assignment, only rest. Maybe a couple of days to get his timing going again, but damn, it was going pretty good already.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I’m not sure if he needs a short rehab assignment or not. It will depend on how long he goes without swinging a bat and how much the Tribe wants him back a little rusty. Moreover, it is possible that he might be able to get in a couple of rehab games before he becomes eligible to come off the DL.

So basically, the Pronk injury sets LaPorta’s legit debut time back 15 days?
