He played semi pro ball for the Heeber Oilers and moved on to the NY Knights. He’s sort of an urban legend with his bat named Wonderboy.

I just wondered because, according to ESPN, the Indians purchased his contract from the Northern League: http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/transactions. You have to scroll down to the transactions for the 16th.
