Batting Practice
Tribe Fans,
I am heading up to a game this Friday between the St. Louis Cardinals and Cleveland Indians and looking to catch some batting practice before the 7:05 start. I have not been up to an Indians game for a few years, so I am hoping some more regular fans can tell me when the gates open and whether or not the Indians will take BP first or second. Also hopeful to find a good place for parking and any other pointers to help make the experience as enjoyable as it can be! Sorry to use a fanpost to ask this, but hopefully that's ok. Thanks!

There’s lots of good parking to be had. I forget exactly where, but off a corner street at an old BP there is parking that goes down a hill behind the BP that is $10, and the golf cart you up the hill before the game. But if you’re getting there that early you’ll have no parking issues.

For 7:05 games, Gate C (I believe it is) opens at 4:30. Only a few sections of seating are opened at that point, enough to let you take in batting practice if that is your wish, or hang out at the Batter’s Eye bar. The rest of the park opens at 6.
I honestly do not remember who bats first or second. I think the Tribe bats second, from past experience, but it’s been a while, so don’t take that as gospel. :)

Force quit and move to trash.
Gate C is the key. I’ve never understood why people line up at the other gates and wait to get in when they could mosey over to Gate C an scoop up BP balls.
The Tribe is scheduled to finish BP before 4.30pm, so unless the plan of events gets skewed, you’ll have to settle for watching the opposition. I’ve stumbled in on Tribe BP before, but it is very, very rare.
No, not you. Your helmet!

Maybe we need to collectively create an online resource: The LGT Guide to Seeing An Indians Game.
Parking, Restaurants, Bars, etc. All in one tidy place.

A few years back I did a thing called Batting Practice xtra when I flew there from Wyoming. It was kind of pricey but I got to talk to Victor, Garko, and Shoppach and got autographs on the the hat that came with the on field pass. I also got dinner in the terrace club as part of the deal, I believe that they only offer it for Friday games. I felt it was way worth it. And the tribe hit’s first.
