Kind of stunned we haven’t had any real trade rumors, at least since 4th of July weekend… I mean nothing other than the useless “Should the Indians consider dealing Victor Martinez/Cliff Lee stuff?”
Peralta, Garko, Shoppach, Pavano, Betancourt… not a lick.
So they can get used to Garko being between them?

By the way, just read your profile description. Your hatred of hockey is pretty vile.

I’m sorry. I’m not Canadian so I don’t have to like it. I’m going to start trying to follow it. I don’t know how well it will work. Basketball appeared to work well so maybe it’ll be okay.
Who needs affection when you can have blind hatred?
No no, continue to ignore it, please. The less interest in hockey in the US, the quicker we get more teams up north.

If I’m going to have a career in sports I feel like I need to. I’m sorry.

Or something. I haven’t decided. I don’t need to for awhile. A sideline reporter would be fun.

You done any sports journalism related stuff at school?

I just changed majors. This coming semester’s my first one. We have a lot of sports communication classes and I’m trying to get a job at the paper this semester too. And an internship next summer and the summer after that.

I’m interested to see how you like it. I found that sports became a lot less fun when it was a job and I couldn’t be partial. It’s more fun being a fan again.

That is a danger but a lot of people say it’s just as fun and not like working too. I think it depends.

I’ve told my stories here before, so I won’t bore people again, but the time I’ve spent in the Indians dressing room were some of the most dull moments I’ve had. I really have no desire to go back…unless we win the WS, in which case I want some champagne.

I think from the stories I’ve read the dressing room is anything but dull for girls especially in baseball for some reason.
Who needs affection when you can have blind hatred?
That’s true, there was a lot of dick. Like a lot of dick. Ronnie Belliard really needed to learn to use a goddamn towel.

And, thus, a career in medicine was born.

Thanks, just had a terrible terrible flashback.

My friend got a lot of what you did with a minor league team. His stories of Pablo Sandoval mirror your stories of Belliard, I’m sure.
The only cool part was not paying to get in for basically any sporting event I wanted to go to. The access to the dressing rooms and press box got old really quick.

Yeah I’m really not looking forward to that part but sports is kind of all I think about so I figure I should get paid for it.
Who needs affection when you can have blind hatred?
All I’m saying is be careful, because sports is a crazy obsession for most of us. But mixing business with pleasure can make you go loony.

So you’d take 1/5 of his value because you don’t like how he looks. Awesome.

We throw him a parade, that’d be the right thing to do.

Hope for 2010 Indians.
Seattle record after 91 games last year 36-55, same as Indians this year.
Mariners were 18 games out of first at that time last year — now 4 games out.
So you’re saying we should trade for Gutz?

I’m thinking this offense really hasn’t had enough time (with all members present) to gel yet……err…..frustrating.

Do we seriously have a starter other than Lee going into the 7th inning?!

Ohka is pitching a 4-hitter. Unfortunately, he is going up against a pitcher who is having a career year and the Indians offense is in the middle of another funk.
Oh, you mean one of those year long every other game funks. Somebody should talk to our hitters about averaging out their runs. I volunteer Slider

This 27-minute lapse in a game thread might be a record of some sort.

Dear Mark Shapiro,
Please trade some of these players. I’m beginning to believe there isn’t a Santa Claus.
Sincerely,
