Trade Talk with Castro and the Indians are Active in the Dominican
Interesting thoughts about the negligible difference between the non-waiver and waiver deadline this year.
The second link is here. The Tribe has signed two shortstops and a pitcher from the Dominican.

So basically 10 days before the deadline, the Indians are examining trades. And they want pitching.
… wow great story
Can I suggest this thread becomes the rosterbation official thread?

Though I look right at home, I still feel like an exile

I don’t mind telling you that the best part of 2008 was the purge. Not just in the fanboy drool-over-prospects sense, but the feeling of release. It’s all over. Members of the team are gone. Next year is right in front of us, playing on the field.

I’m looking forward to the trades, I guess is what I’m trying to say.

According to Heyman the Mets turned down an offer of Halladay for Fernando Martinez, Bobby Parnell, Jon Niese and Ruben Tejada
Maybe I’m not a fan of the Mets prospects but I don’t like that trade for either team.
Rosenthal wrote today pretty much this:
Early trade talks between Phillies and Indians for Lee went nowhere.
Indians want MLB-ready starting pitcher in return.
Betancourt drawing a lot of interest. Pavano is not.
I’d probably wager that Rafael Betancourt is the player most likely to be moved before the July 31st deadline. I doubt the Indians are going to be picking up his 2010 option, but some clubs might want to.
I’d also bet that Carroll will be gone as well. He’s the kind of guy that could bring some versatility and leadership to a contending ballclub.

Here’s the best trade rumor article of the day … courtesy Heyman:
In it he basically says … insiders say Tribe is much more open to trading Lee, except for the insiders that says they’re more likely to trade Victor, and the insider that says he could see both in Cleveland next year.
Quality stuff.
Heyman both cites The Fat Jackass as a source on what Shapiro will do and says Rondon is pitching for Akron, so he really appears to have penned this one from the side of the pool while drinking a big margarita.
