Matt LaPorta will be starting tonight for Columbus. At first base.
I probably won’t be here when it’s time, but I predict a Wood save tonight.

So when was (is) the LaPorta date of fiscal freedom? I’m assuming it must be in the future as Benny is still patrolling the outfield in Cleveland rather than the Columbus.
I think all the magic dates have been passed, so there’s no service time reason for keeping him in Columbus.
they need to drop 2 pitchers before they can add LaPorta, because the 1st drop is needed to create space for Abreu
A. Laffey just gave up 6 runs in the bottom of the first. Hmmm, maybe he needs one more tune-up outing? Fausto on Sunday night! Right handed Jeremy Sowers! I actually am encouraged by whoever made the decision to force him to pitch without the power stuff. He needs to be able to command and change speeds.
Well put.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

This site? No, but I do note this is the worst game-thread attendance of the year. Glad to know we’re not dropping the ball this badly.
/ignores own long absence
I expected to be in Bowie right now watching the Aeros beat the BaySox but on the way a young driver in front of me panicked and stopped right in front of me. Dead stop! Bam! My car is in the shop and I’m back home cursing young drivers, the Indians, Wedge, Shapiro, Marte (why not?), and anyone else I don’t like at the moment. Crap!
If you believe it's just a game, you're also probably wondering why Santa keeps skipping your house every year.
Here’s some fun — BP’s projected wins, based on current wins plus projected wins from simulations based on third order wins:
Nats – 61.5
Indians – 69.8
Orioles – 70.1
D’backs – 70.4
Padres – 71.1
A’s – 71.3
Royals – 71.5
Pirates – 76.8
I am not buying this, though. I think we’ll end up with the 6th or 7th worst record.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Choo just keeps getting better, doesn’t he? He’s a rock!

I love Choo more than thought I could ever love a right fielder with an OPS under 900.

I’m seeing only 7 outfielders in the bigs with an OPS over 900 going into tonight’s games…

If the Indians win, and there are no LGTers around to see it, does it count?
I believe in Carl Pavano.

They improve circulation by narrowing the blood vessels in your extremities. On your arm, it would help to prevent swelling. I’m sure lots of athletes wear compression socks too. If you know anybody with diabetes or other circulatory problems, you’re familiar with those.

I’ve got to figure the Garko and Francisco playing time thing is just about pumping up some trade value at this point.
Hopefully that’s what the Ryan Garko – OF experiment was all about as well.

Not a stretch to say Choo may very well finish the season for the Indians with the highest avg., obp, and most rbis, bb, sb. And if he really gets hot in the 2nd half, can even take over V-mart in hits.
