I’d keep him, toss him into the ’pen .. and say goodbye to Gosling.
As for “I might be back soon” .. sounds to me that is essentially saying … “When Pavano is dealt, I’ll be back in the rotation.”
I think you might be right. Hopefully they can pull something in the line of a AA starting pitcher with upside who could spend the rest of the year in Columbus and make a run at the big league rotation by the middle of next year. I’d say that would make the Pavano deal worth half of the $1.5 mil we paid him this year.

oh man, i never thought about trading a guy for a bag of baseballs. that’s funny when you picture it. it’s like the guy isn’t even worth another player, but at least you can use the baseballs. classic. i hope this catches on.
