The website BaseballParks.com rated all 12 new and renovated ballparks, from both major and minor league teams, and selected Huntington Park in Columbus as the best. The park, which cost $42 million to build, beat the $1.5 billion Yankee Stadium along with Citi Field and the renovated Kaufmann Stadium. So our AAA park is better than the Yankees and Mets major league park! BaseballParks.com has a detailed review on their website, along with plenty of pictures. Not only do they love the stadium but they love the way it fits in to the Arena District section of Columbus. The park is right across the street from Nationwide Arena, home of the Blue Jackets. They were also surprised at how many new elements could be added to a ballpark after so many have already been built. I've visited the park twice already this summer (and plan on going again on Sunday) and I can say that it is certainly beautiful in person. One thing that's cool is that they have a "History of Baseball" exhibit throughout the park with pictures and a few old bats and gloves. Also, parking across the street is only $3 (unless there's an event at the arena). Overall, a great park that all citizens of Columbus and Indians fans can be proud of.
