On June 20th, in a 5-0 win over Lynchburg, Fedroff went 0-for-4. What's notable about this is that it's the last game that Fedroff failed to reach base, as he extended his streak to 35 games by going 6-for-12 over the weekend with four doubles and four walks. Now batting .500 (27-for-54) in August and .354/.447/.485 since the All-Star break, Fedroff's patient approach and line-drive bat has scouts projecting him as a possible old-school leadoff man if he can improve in center field.

Thank goodness. My Trevor Crowe bandwagon was nearing the 60,000 mile mark and was due for a whole slew of repairs.

People just can’t keep the positional adjustment straight in their heads, I guess. And it’s a very typical human failing to focus on what’s missing rather than what’s there.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
You should have a comma after ‘missing’.

At first glance I thought it was you who’d posted that comment. That would have made it funnier.

The Fed picks the ‘08 draft New Blood guys off their collective ass. Diggin’ on Chen-Chang Lee, too, who has evidently had just about enough of Kinston.

At this stage, which I guess is still only about 14 months into it and very early, I like the ‘08 draft. The Chisl is looking great (which is huge). Trey Haley is all over the place, but I’m prepared to give a high school pitcher a year to figure things out a bit. Phelps got off to a fast start, has since faded, but is still a middle infielder with a .380 OBP…so a major league projection isn’t entirely out of the question, even if it is more likely as a utility guy. Putnam is interesting and now that he is in the bullpen seems likely to be in Columbus next year. Then there’s Fedroff…Eric Berger and Clayton Cook are two guys who have had some success. Berger is old but already in Akron. Cook just turned 19. TJ House is obviously looking like a real deal kind of guy. That seems like a decent set of names from the top of last year’s draft (House wasn’t until the 16th round).
Let’s see…Stowell and Recknagel are at Kinston. In addition to those two, and the guys you list, is anyone else at Kinston or higher?
Putnam is still getting hit, but you’ve gotta dig on those K% and GB%. I guess I’d rather he learned by working in the zone than by issuing walks.
I’m being facetious, of course; ’08’s lookin’ fine. In another year’s time, Chiz could be our best position-player prospect. And, yeah, you do get the sense that there are a lot of guys who could come out of the woodwork with another off-season to develop. Roberts comes to mind. And Guido, of course.

In my fantasy world Guido and Carlos Moncrief become a 1-2 back of the bullpen tag-team stopper duo.
so, does your team look like this?
C – Jose Molina
1B – Prince Fielder
2B – Ronnie Belliard
3B – Pablo Sandoval
SS – Juan Uribe
OF – Carlos Lee
OF – Jack Cust
OF – Jason Kubel
SP – CC Sabathia
SP – Justin Chamberlain
SP – Carlos Zambrano
RP – Bobby Jenks
RP – Jonathan Broxton
RP – José Valverde
