Around SBN: Knicks Beat Lakers With Familiar Strategy

All I have for now is a Lastoria tweet. He hasn't confirmed it but I have no doubt this has something to do with an inverted W.

Wedge is going to love how hard he runs.

I just knew Mike Sarbuagh’s “High Hurdles Conditioning Plan” was doomed to fail.

I’ll also add some odds and ends from Tony to add a little bit more news to this fanshot.

Wouldn’t it be great if Bryson makes a full recovery? He has kind of been mentally written off since this latest influx of young pitchers. It’s like finding a 20 in your old jeans.

Shouldn’t the title be: Weglarz has shin splintz

by Toxicadam on Aug 18, 2009 3:35 PM EDT up reply actions

I thought that said, “It’s like finding a 20 year old in your jeans,” which would also be interesting.

A brief consultation of the PTM user’s guide reassures me that I can go on blissfully ignoring Paolo Espino.

The once and future

Yeah, that dude needs to get to Akron pronto.

On the other hand, he’s a lot more relevant than Rob frickin’ Bryson, whom no one would have ever even heard of had he not been in the Sabathia deal. You have any idea how many old-for-Low-A relievers get injured and never are heard from again? Must be hundreds.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

by Jay on Aug 18, 2009 7:29 PM EDT up reply actions

True, because he’d still be in the Brewers system. That’s not just snark – had he been a Tribe property all along, I think his near 12 K/9 would have drawn some interest.

This isn’t basketball!

More evidence that Weglarz! is the next Barry Bonds.

by FredOx on Aug 18, 2009 3:45 PM EDT reply actions

Lastoria called them shin splits, but on further review after this article and a quick Google search I’m going to change the title. Before the medical horde swoops down on me.

Clutch, Freddy. Clutch.

Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

so anytime a runner friend of mine got these, it was always because their shoes were too small. wasn’t it kevin mench that famously got new shoes then went on a tear….

by Brick. on Aug 18, 2009 6:04 PM EDT reply actions

I thought Mench got a new hat.

by NickFantana on Aug 19, 2009 9:51 AM EDT up reply actions

I think Brick is right. I mean, let’s not pretend any hat would fit Mench’s dome.

Shoes. He does have a giant head. I wish I could find a picture of the Shrek helmet MLB wouldn’t let him wear.

Is Jason Donald hurt too? He seems to be playing only once a week.
