I think Manning may have run into one … said something insightful or at least correct.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

Are we tired of this phrase/“joke” yet?

Quick reminder: Profanity is not permitted in game threads or anywhere else.
Enforcement may be lax for spontaneous emotional outbursts as we react to the game, but the rule is still no profanity.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
i really like this rule.
that is all.

Just wondering what words are considered profanity. Obviously you don’t have to say but you could give hints or something. I just don’t know how far is too far I guess. I also probably don’t have too much to worry about since I usually don’t say those words.
Who needs affection when you can have blind hatred?
You were clearly around when Carlin was getting his start.

I can’t listen to this right now. I’m at the desk in my dorm.
Who needs affection when you can have blind hatred?
I am supposed to be a role model. Not playing curse words for people entering the building.

Role model for the freshmen who live in my dorm.

Which is still hilariously up for debate.

I think brick and I established years ago that we provide next to nothing substantive to the conversation.

So I have a Kindle arriving today. There is an LGT subscription that costs 99 cents a month. Anyone try this?
it’s awesome

It’s kind of a niche gadget, and expensive, mainly for commuters I think.
Although there’s speculation that it might be useful in a college setting, once enough textbooks are up on it.
Kindle is like an iPhone that doesn’t do anything, only with a larger screen.

A larger black and white screen.
Do people actually read books on an iPhone? I know they have readers, but it’s it hard?
I’m not an eBook guy, but I’ve read that iPod eBook sales already are bigger than Kindle eBook sales. And they haven’t even gotten their tablet thingy out the door yet, whatever it is.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
apparently, the apple tablet deal is a sept/oct release. i expect it will be highly awesome.
microsoft is floating one this fall, too.

I’m reading a novel on my iPhone (using the Stanza app), and think it’s passable.

There is one amazon review for it:
5.0 out of 5 stars A Must For Tribe Fans, June 14, 2009
By Lovin Balmer “quasimd” (Baltimore, MD United States) – See all my reviews
I’ve read this blog online for a few years; game threads are fun and posts are always creative. I enjoy having them wherever I go on my Kindle. A must for Tribe fans! Thanks guys.
Does SBN even work right on the kindle browser? I’m skeptical.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
I’ll let you know. But Amazon has Kindle blog page, and the whole sports section is basically each of the SBN blogs. So it looks like SBN has tried to establish it. See.
Andy’s got that uppercut going again. I want Day 1 Andy back where his eyes are crazy good and his swing is level.
HIT FACTORY is kinda cool, but it’s really not sustainable for Andy when he’s swinging like this. He’s had a lot of weak popups lately, and a bunch more that fortunately drifted into the stands.

Let’s hope he doesn’t have to face DeJesus or Jacobs, both have homered off him this year…

PD:
Along with Masterson, Fausto Carmona, Tony Sipp, Rafael Perez, David Huff, Aaron Laffey, Wyatt Toregas and Tomo Ohka were on the bus. Huff is scheduled to start today’s game. When told of the accident, third base coach Joel Skinner wisecracked, “Better a car than a bullet.”
I wonder what the team WHIP splits are for Asdrubuena behind the pitcher vs. all other situations.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.
Sweet, I bet the Tribe to win today, plus under 9.5 runs. Now I need some guy named Rajeev Ram to win his tennis match.
There is help for this you know. I would assume they have help in Canada.

IMO, he is. He’s frustrating too, but at least you know he’s gonna be shaky from the get go. As opposed to 3-4 perfect innings before imploding…

Just want to make a quick comment for those who were in the Game Thread earlier. Some of our regular commenters went not only beyond Game Thread etiquette, but beyond the threshold of propriety for a family site, and for a site that really respects and values all of its contributors. Not only has the material been deleted, but each individual involved has been contacted and some minor but appropriate action was taken.
I only bring this up so that those who may have been offended or just really turned off by that material will know that it was dealt with, and that we are committed to maintaining certain standards. I have no wish to embarrass anyone, so that’s all I’m going to say about it publicly. Comments are closed.
