Andy Marte: "He looks better, physically. But it's still the same approach. He's still got that fastball approach, and he just doesn't make adjustments. But I'll say this: Somebody got to him about conditioning and commitment. He's in much better shape. So I wouldn't sell him short yet."
This is so short it might not even be fanshot worthy. But, hey... it's Andy.

When a National Leaguer gets traded to the AL is it cool to say they got ‘called up’?

Stark is quoting, or retweeting, Seth Myers there.

This is spot on. He does seem like he’s done less partying which increases the odds of more partaying but… Is it just me or does it seem sometimes that his long swing just makes the bat look like it is 400 lbs.?

His swing does make the bat look awful heavy.

I think his swing has actually shortened quite a bit. His follow-through on basehits has been quite compact, a similar appearance to Vernon Wells if you will.

His homerun the other night was a pretty swing.

His shot tonight did seem to have some real bat speed on it.

This comparison makes me really uncomfortable.
Everybody should get ice cream every day.

Vernon Wells has the kind of swing that when he makes contact and crushes it, you wonder why he doesn’t do that every plate appearance.
And wow, Vernon with only a 802 career OPS. Thought it had to be higher than that, even with his recent struggles.

With the $126 million contract. I give you JP Ricciardi … a guy who should shut up more often.

Hell yeah. Me too. He recently replaced the Mell Hall card in the frame thanks to his legal issues.

interesting how gimenez has really not had any at bats lately due to mr marte getting nearly all of them at first. gimenez was playing a lot a couple weeks back for whatever reason.. so wedge and shapiro must have their evaluation of his future role in mind already. or it could be they decided to just let marte have his chance on an every day basis for once

his future role
All depends on whether he grows a scrappy beard or not.
