I have never been so frightened before in my whole life…

There is a great need for a sarcasm font

A thoroughly enjoyable read.

I didn’t want it to end.

I loved it. It was much better than Cats. I’m going to see it again and again and again.

I want it. I've been grinding it out for awhile.

The progressive mental deterioration of Winston is simply splendid.

“First kisses forgotten” is some inspired writing.

do NOT use a one-ahhrmed man to teach a lesson.

This is Victor's home. Victor Jose, you too.

It’s funny because it’s true.

That Reyes has some nerve.

I like Shapiro as the gigantic head looking down on everyone. Kind of like God talking to Moses or something.

Did I see Scott Scudder in there?

by lenred on Aug 31, 2009 11:27 PM EDT reply actions

I played ball in college with Scott Scudder.

Everybody should get ice cream every day.

My favorite card as a kid was Scudder.

An appearance by Adam Miller’s middle finger would have been awesome.

This is really fantastic, and probably needs to be a regular series (the Purgatory, not just Comic Life).

Great stuff, Andrew. Gotta love the effort.

No more space for Luis Vizcaino?

by jayme on Sep 1, 2009 9:22 AM EDT reply actions

He’s the one looking at the sky. I think the only guy not in there is Veras.

Somewhere in there Matt Miller should be their god.

i believe that position goes to Jason Stanford and his ~140 career starts for Buffalo

by APV on Sep 1, 2009 9:45 AM EDT up reply actions

wait…misread the line. About 70 starts for Buffalo, another 45 or so for Akron.

by APV on Sep 1, 2009 9:49 AM EDT up reply actions

Plus another 3 for the Nationals version of the Clippers and 7 in Iowa for the Cubs. But that pales in comparison to the immortal Tony Brizzolara, who started 173 AA and AAA games, mostly in the Braves organization. More than 1100 minor league IP.

Plus 7 starts in Tiajuana

by APV on Sep 1, 2009 10:27 AM EDT up reply actions

I think their god has to be Jeremy Guthrie — 67 career AAA starts with a 4.96 ERA, somehow followed by two full seasons as a big-league starter and a 125 ERA+.
