Imaginary Conversation Between Shapiro and Huntington
Steve Buffum (of theclevelandfan.com) did this on Neyer's blog in his absence.

And, while we’re at it, Buffum’s other article relating game theory to steroid use is pretty interesting as well.

Yeah I liked both of those. And Neyer is not Insider content any more.

I really like this piece. Especially this:
Huntington: Well, kind of. They’re more like the foundation of the foundation of the future.
Nice. This one struck me.
Shapiro: It didn’t even occur to me to ask for Tim Alderson.

Huntington: It’s a process, Mark. Embrace the process.

Wow, Buffum’s hitting the big time. He deserves it, the guy has been pumping out quality content at a high rate for a long time.
He has some good stuff but really needs an editor and has never had one.
Well, that's just, like, your opinion, man.

I think this is funny but I am miffed about this Alderson thing. Until someone can explain away his numbers can we just call him a non prospect?
The explanation is that most people looked at a BA preseason list and assumed that meant he was really good.
Are we talking about Tim Alderson? Does he suck now? He had a pretty darn good 2008, moved up to AA and lost a bunch of strikeouts. But it’s not like he’s getting hammered. He’s an OK prospect, not a great one, but certainly not a non-prospect.
I can do “he’s an OK prospect.” But people are acting like he’s some huge get for Huntington. I don’t think it’s cut and dry at all that he’s any better than Barnes (or was it Graham)?
Barnes. For what it’s worth,
MLE WHIP: Alderson, 1.46, Barnes, 1.39
and Sackmann likes Barnes’s K rate better.
