Gee, it kind of feels like we got Masterson for Byrd now.
Okay, not really.

The Red Sox rotation is in such shambles that Paul Byrd could be their #3 or #4 right now.

I feel like they should have traded us Buchholz and Hagadone for Lee.

Agree completely. Looking at the state of their rotation, trading for Victor seems like a really bad move. Their offense would always be good enough to get the job done, assuming they have a rotation that can win games for them. But beyond Beckett and Lester, they’ve got a patchwork of guys who just don’t inspire a lot of confidence.
Now, just imagine if Masterson moves into our rotation and pitches well…

Honestly, I think they should have made the Victor deal and the Halladay deal. They had the firepower to get that done, easily.

Yeah, they could probably use Masterson in their rotation this year more than we need him next year.

I get so tired of checking in on these threads and all you see is Sox-Yankee bashing. Doesn’t anyone want to talk baseball? Very few comments on the logistics of the trade, just ‘roids. Stupid! Sox bashers, go back to your sewers until you can hold an intelligent baseball conversation. Sox fans, don’t respond to these losers, maybe they will go away when no one stoops to their level.
Comment by a Rosenthal reader called “Cornsnake.”

You know who makes comments like that?
Fans of a team loaded up with steroids.

The fans are loaded up with steroids or the team?

Both obviously.

If by steroids you mean things that make you delusional and angry.
