Game 143: Royals 7, Indians 0
A day after rapping out 17 hits, the Indians managed just two base knocks against the likes of Kyle Davies, Roman Colon and Carlos Rosa. To be fair, the Indians did take 7 walks today. Carlos Carrasco made his third and best start of the season, holding the Royals to four earned runs, five runs total, in 6.0 IP. The peripherals still aren't there, however, as Carrasco gave up 8 hits today, following the 17 he'd surrendered in his previous two starts. The new CC gave way to Mike Gosling, good for another Royals run, Rafael Perez, who turned in a perfect inning on just 8 pitches and Kerry Wood, who looked as he has all too often this season, allowing two hits, a walk and a run before settling down and finishing the game.
The Tribe have finished their homestand, going 3-6, and go on the road to Minnesota tomorrow. Nothing doing for this Indians team; might as well tune in to the Aeros, who are heading to their fifth straight Eastern League Championship Series.

Ozzie Guillen on Alex Rios: "What have I seen from Rios? A lot of outs. The only batting ninth guy making $5 million was me. This mother [bleeper] is making $10, $12, $14 million, he ain’t going to be batting ninth [in 2010]. I’m going to make sure he earns his money. But right now I have to put him there because he’s struggling. Next year, if we have Rios batting ninth we’re in deep [crap] once again.’’
Fire Wedge; hire Sarbaugh
If you believe it's just a game, you're also probably wondering why Santa keeps skipping your house every year.
Be careful. After all, Wedge-led teams made the postseason in 1999 (Kinston), 2001 (Buffalo) and 2002 (Buffalo). Had the Aeros not lost a one-game playoff to Harrisburg in 2000, that would be four straight for Wedge.
