Harold Reynolds, Nostradoofus.
Reynolds claims Peralta is a better shortstop in Detroit than in Cleveland. His analogy?
"For him, moving to third was like having someone take your computer away from you for a while and make you write with pen and paper. When you get the computer back, you appreciate all the things it can do."
Maybe I'm wrong, but this doesn't make much sense.

The problem with Jhonny was never how well he played when he was feeling energized and motivated. The problem with Jhonny (apparently) was that he doesn’t stay energized and motivated for very long. His main problem at third base, in fact, may well have been that he just didn’t have his heart in it.
Let’s keep in mind, though, as a shortstop, Jhonny always had a great arm and was never terribly error-prone. In good years and bad, the main issue was always his range, which vacillated between mediocre and awful. Even if he could sustain his big enthusiasm for more than a couple months, it is highly unlikely that he’ll have more range or agility at 29 than he had at 25.
“Old guy keeps telling me to go out to shortstop and play hard. I like shortstop. So I go out to shortstop. Not sure why he smokes and swears so much.”
