All of the articles and commentary on Bob Feller surprised me; but when you look back on his life, the plaudits are understandable. For me, the remarkable thing is that I don’t know of any professional player with a smaller average “Degree of Separation Score” – really, I would bet that everyone on this site has either met Bob Feller or knows someone who has met Bob Feller. And when I talk about “meeting” Bob Feller, I mean having an actual conversation about something beyond “please sign my baseball.”
