Think I read somewhere that both Fausto and Westbrook are expected to pitch 3 innings each…I’m more interested in seeing Carmona pitch than I am Westbrook. Just want to see if there are any visible changes that Carmona has made.
So is the MLB at bat app for the iphone worth the $15.00?

I just got it for the itouch, meaning I need to be in wifi range.
But it’s pretty slick. It seems to load and start the audio quicker and with less fuss than my laptops ever have, and easier to carry around.
It is audio for the whole season, but someone was saying in yesterday’s thread that the regular season will have streaming video too. Here’s one description.
That would be crazy – for $15?

Thank you for the discussion and details. I was also wondering about the app yesterday. The recent reviews of the app rip the audio and buffering. I gather that this is just a problem with ST feeds.
$15 to have audio for the whole season really is a no-brainer.

It may be that the audio/buffering experience is totally different through the cell phone. I’ve had no trouble with the WiFi.
There’s generally at least one game per day that is free. You can also buy individual games via in-app purchase for $1 each if you’re not interested in shelling out for a whole season. You also get streaming video highlights during the game even if you’re just listening to the audio.
IMO, it is absolutely worth the $15 (even though I cringe at the $5 increase over last year). One nice feature this year is that you can tell it to stream the audio via Safari, which means you can let it play while you read email, etc. Obviously not a problem if you’re on an OS that allows multitasking.
The biggest problem is still the anemic 19th century stats they deign to provide. The $3 Fangraphs app fixes that.
Is this completely separate from the computer-based gameday audio? I just bought that to stream from my PC. Do I have to spend another $15 for the app?
Is there an App for this for Google based phones?

I love that team…but I’m kinda hoping they aren’t a 1 seed. That’s dumb, I know, but I don’t think they should be a 1 seed, and the pressure would be immense. This should be a dark horse team.
That might risk them becoming a “consensus sleeper”, no?

There is often dead air for commercials.

Well I’m on the video feed, but typically on my mlb.tv there are commercials. You don’t have anything yet?

well, if we’re skipping ahead to when brantley ‘replaces’ banyan, might as well say:
So in real life, our lineup would end with Santana, Valbuena, and Brantley
food sounds great…but alas, I’m stuck here doing tax returns until 8 tonight. Oh well, such is life.

Did Laporta homer earlier? The MLB box score doesn’t seem to be updating. Castro isn’t even twittering anymore.

LaPorta struck a spherical object traveling on the horizontal plane, providing it with velocity in the opposite direction. He was then able to travel 90 feet on the diagonal, before the opposing squad could deliver the orb to Mr. LaPorta’s destination. At the same time, two other individuals dressed in the same manner as Mr. LaPorta were likewise able to travel 90 feet at a time, touching a pentagonal object upon reaching their ultimate destination.

I hate it when I pull my precautionary. That’s at least three weeks of physical therapy or three weeks in the doghouse, whichever comes first.

Also! From CastroTurf on Asdrubal…
Asdrubal Cabrera left today’s game with an injury, shortly after hitting a leadoff triple in the fifth. He remained on base for several pitches, but he injured his upper left leg on a headfirst slide back to the bag on a pickoff attempt. The Indians had no further information, though Cabrera did walk without a noticeable limp when he left the field to catch the shuttle back to the Player Development Complex. They’ll have an update Saturday, but it doesn’t sound serious.

Lineup today, via Hoynsie:
CF Brantley, DH Sizemore, 3B Chisenhall, RF Kearns, 2B Valbuena, 1B Hodges, C Marson, LF Gimenez, SS Rivero, RHP Masterson.
I’m guessing this might be the last game in big league camp for Chisenhall, Hodges and Rivero
I like seeing Brantley get reps at CF.
