I’m Canadian, I have no American collegiate loyalties, so back the hell off.
And holy cow, I just went back and read the epic thread from 5 months ago. I now regret my offseason absence from LGT.

Sure, this is terrible in general, but: Really? You can’t think of a bigger mental mistake in the history of Michigan basketball? Really?
for this, and other reasons, i have to believe the “blogger” is no more than 19 years old and believes the entire history of sports includes only what he remembers.
You are reading my signature.
i have to take this back, because a picture of Webber is there as an inset. I don’t know if he actually mentioned it, because I refuse to read it.
This is all sorts of retarded. Losing a game on a half-court shot, with the impending uncertainty of having to win 2 more consecutive games in order to even receive a bid to the major national championship tournament, is just slightly lower on the mental mistake totem pole than calling a timeout with the ball down 2 points in the final 11 seconds of the national championship game when you don’t have any timeouts available. Silly comments like that discredit the author’s entire path of logic for any topic, giving me no reason to ever read a single piece of opinion be it on cleveland sports or in this case, non-ohio collegiate sports, and may God have mercy on your soul.

This is clearly a sarcastic comment. Did you happen to notice the Chris Webber pictures?

Shakes head for having even clicked the link. Begins to search frantically for lost brain cells.

I am sorry that my fellow blogger does not right serious material. It is apparent to me that all of you do not know what fun is.
If you don’t think we know what fun is, you really haven’t been paying attention to some of the material around here in the last 6 months.
Welcome back, Sandy! ATALECG...
i’m curious: do you really think that the blog you linked to is the best in the world? assuming that was hyperbole on your part, do you even think it’s objectively good? above-average? what is it about that blog’s content that, in your mind, lifts it above the 100s of other cleveland sports blogs on the net?

there are a lot more than you’d expect. the blogroll at wfny contains at least 25-30 active cleveland sports-centric blogs (although i’m broadly defining cleveland sports as including OSU and the blue jackets), and i’d wager that there are a lot more defunct ones. maybe not in the multiple hundreds, but clearly “100s” sounded better than “10s” in my above post.

I am clearly joking. It was just an attention getting title.

You would think the LGT regulars wouldn’t struggle so much with the very basic precept: “Always assume sarcasm.” It’s not like you were even subtle about it.
Duly noted. For me, Koobs’ style has succeeded in disguising the sarcasm, a term which, deriving from the Greek word meaning “to cut from the bone,” suggests a slicing remark. Instead of wielding a scalpel, Koobs employs a sledge. The younger you are, I’m learning here, the more fun it must be to wield a ten-pound hammer.

For instance, I could have sworn that koobs called somebody (supermarioelia?) “adolf” and I was guessing that he wasn’t sneering at a perceived link between LGT and modernist architecture but was referring to a more famous German-speaking Adolf. Did I hallucinate that or have the comments been scrubbed? Can one justify scrubbing the comment but not the commentator?
by YoDaddyWags on Mar 14, 2010 10:47 AM EDT up reply actions
It seems to me that scrubbing, without comment, absolves scrubbee from having to account for his sins, and denies the future reader a full view of said contributor. One might substitute, maybe, “Offensive allusion to 20th Century maniacal and genocidal despot with mustache—no, not that one, smaller mustache—removed.”

to be fair, i don’t know that koobs should benefit from the general presumption of sarcasm. mainly because he posts stuff like this. unless that was just a brilliant bit of andy kaufman-esque anti-humor, i’m not sure that anything koobs has done suggests the level of self-awareness that would allow me to assume sarcasm.

This is great. I didn’t want to read about the Indians any way. I wanted to read everyone rip on this guy.
I can talk about the Indians all day but I think it is a little fun to add some offseason humor to the sit.
