In other news, the Cleveland Indians lost the same intrasquad game 2-3. Paul Hoynes, ladies and gentlemen!

I like this:
Jordan Brown, who did not receive a September call up from the Tribe, singled and homered for Smith.
Just had to shoehorn that in there Paul? But it’s a little long for a nickname.
Well, that only took them about a half hour, headline has now been changed to:
“Jordan Brown shines in Cleveland Indians first intrasquad game”
matt mcbride and wes hodges can’t even get in this club. maybe with one more year of being old and not that good.
They held a conference call and Jason Cooper called in but all he did was hold the receiver and breathe.
Adam Miller was waiting in room 212 but the only other people who showed up were doctors.

I thought Adam Miller had his iPhone ready but his fingers didn’t work well enough to operate the touchpad

I like the idea that Brown’s anger is not going to be focused on other teams but instead only on pummeling the Indians’ own pitchers in intrasquad games.

i don’t like ‘hoynes’ and ‘exposure’ being in the same sentence.

My only Hoynes exposure is when my eye strays to the opposite page while reading Brian Windhorst in the Sunday PD. I plan to resolve this problem by putting out my left eye.

Sadly, the Dispatch has stopped employing an Indians beat writer and is in some sort of cooperative endeavor with the PD. The PD provides Cleveland sports content and the Dispatch provides Ohio State and Blue Jackets content to the PD. We are stuck with Hoynes, though, on the upside, we also get Windhorst. It’s probably a draw.

When they actually have an article about an actual game, it’s typically from Windhorst.

Woodsmeister is right. Sadly, the occasional Windhorst recap was not enough for me to continue my subscription. Poor Indians coverage was one of the reasons I gave when they asked. I still grab a Sunday paper when I’m around, but when Hunter or Oller write about the Indians (or Reds) their willful ignorance gives me headaches.
