First post! wooo..anybody know if I can watch EI online if I get a subscription? Still debating EI vs. mlb.tv.
I tend to buy EI for home and Gameday Audio for other spots. I think that’s the best overall value.
How anybody Game Threads with mlb.tv running is beyond me.

I mean, it actually would work fine on a laptop, but not so much on the couch.
by Jay on Apr 9, 2010 2:22 PM EDT up reply actions
I wonder how many of us run both at the same time…anyone besides me?
by supermarioelia on Apr 9, 2010 2:01 PM EDT up reply actions
I’ve got both. I usually throw the game on my TV, but my new apt setup hasn’t settled itself out for that yet.
"Spring Training wins are good for the soul."
Yeah I’ve been doing both on the same monitor for over 3 years now….perhaps that explains my constant mlbtv trouble…

I’m stuck watching the Tigers broadcast on local television here.
It’s a new season, so here’s the yearly tradition of that classic Rod Allen clip:
NEW UMPIRES!!

Gonna test out watching at work … we’ll see if the IT department loses their minds over me streaming baseball at my desk.
Il faut d'abord durer.
Any idea if mlb.tv has a free trial right now or did you subscribe already?

Which reminds me, has anyone seen palcal lately? I missed his steady stream of facts.

Hopefully I’ll catch the end of the game. I have a friend coming over to work on a project while the game’s on :’(
How do you link to a comment on SBN? Because there’s a comment over in the BYB gamethread I need to bring to the attention of LGT so that someone with more clout than I can set them straight.
it always starts the same, with a boy and a girl and a hook and a game

Good call, but they’re impugning Huff’s name and history!

Huff [subject line]
as in David not Aubrery is the tribe starter. Been in organized ball since 2000, finally made majors last year.
it always starts the same, with a boy and a girl and a hook and a game
Very odd comment. Huff was drafted in 2006 but made only 15 starts prior to 2008.
His progress to the majors was brisk by any standard. How many big-league starters have only 48 starts and 253 IP in the minors? That is basically identical to what Sabathia did.

What is this burrito’s provenance? Because there’s a difference between a frozen one you toss in the microwave and one from, say, Chipotle.

This shows how much work I will get done today: MLB At Bat on one screen and the Masters Live on the other. Yep, definitely see productivity in my future.

Here’s a question… why are the games on MLB extra innings not blacked out for me, but when there is an Indians game on ESPN (not against the Yankees), the game is blacked out?
Is it just because MLB extra is free right now? Can they do that?
Cleveland is the team in my market. Cleveland at CWS was blacked out for me on Monday. But, Wednesday and Thursday it was not blacked out on MLB xtra innings preview.
The general rule is that if the game is being broadcast locally, then exclusive rights apply.

OK so now I’m trying to listen to WTAM live online, and it says that live right now is ‘Indians Baseball with Rush Limbaugh’, which doesn’t make much sense.
Anyone know where I can get the game live on the radio?
Huh. What’s up with the extra row in the CBS live scoring? Do we get an extra guy on Friday?
... Paul Hoynes is a really great guy ...
You may well know David Huff from his seventeen albums with David & the Giants, a pioneering Christian rock band. The legendary singer/songwriter of David & the Giant’s fame, continues his musical journey with solo projects. David Huff never dreamed of all the things God had in store for him. Even after the culmination of David & the Giants in 1998, David Huff continues to see God’s plan for his life unfold as he fulfills his charge from God, “Keep on singing. Keep on singing my song.”
BAHAHAHA I"M RETARDED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also on Hafner’s HR….
This is his 4th game in 5 days, 3rd day in a row, and a day game coming out of a night game. This is a good sign.
I like it when both the big and small pictures are positive.

I still say that if he has a positive effect on Carmona, keep him around. And heck, if he has a positive effect on Huff keep him around.

Ooops, forgot that today was an early game. Why a game at 1 on a Friday?
"Spring Training wins are good for the soul."
We need a better derogatory term for S. Sizemore. I’m failing at anything remotely clever or original.
Sizeless?

Groundouts, weak fly outs, I like it. I just wish I would see some more offspeed stuff.
LGT's resident moderate Yankee hating fan.
Yeah every pitch that inning was between 90-94 except for one slide at 86, according to gameday.
by supermarioelia on Apr 9, 2010 1:51 PM EDT up reply actions
Yeah, they were saying that earlier on the TV broadcast — I think Datz had this number last year, so now that he’s gone it’s Huff’s.
*sigh*
Has Huff faced Detroit before? I would think he had to…so it isn’t the Tigers not seeing him before.
Anybody else having problems with MLB.TV? It’s worked for previous games, but is stubbornly refusing in multiple browsers today.
Hmm… what’s happening for me now is that it opens the window, does the blackout check, blah blah blah, and then sits there on a gray screen.
Underpants dropping BABIP on the STO viewers. Manning demurs.

I kinda like this quick-paced game. I have to leave at 3:30, so I may actually get to see all of it.
I am deeply concerned with the bottom portion of our lineup. I want Carlos Santana up yesterday. Am I irrational?
