First post! wooo..anybody know if I can watch EI online if I get a subscription? Still debating EI vs. mlb.tv.

by jakesinger777 on Apr 9, 2010 12:46 PM EDT reply actions

You can not watch EI online.

by dgcambridge on Apr 9, 2010 12:59 PM EDT up reply actions

Only those crappy shows about the 80s

by dgcambridge on Apr 9, 2010 1:02 PM EDT up reply actions

I think EI online is called mlb.tv.

Steel Nick

by nickjs21 on Apr 9, 2010 1:03 PM EDT up reply actions

Yeah, just don’t want to buy both..

by jakesinger777 on Apr 9, 2010 1:04 PM EDT up reply actions

I tend to buy EI for home and Gameday Audio for other spots. I think that’s the best overall value.

How anybody Game Threads with mlb.tv running is beyond me.

by Jay on Apr 9, 2010 1:59 PM EDT up reply actions

Doesn’t really work on a laptop.

by Jay on Apr 9, 2010 2:22 PM EDT up reply actions

I mean, it actually would work fine on a laptop, but not so much on the couch.

by Jay on Apr 9, 2010 2:22 PM EDT up reply actions

I haven’t made the call yet, but I am actually leaning toward MLBTV this year. Until they go full time HD, I might not go back to EI

by Roger Dorn on Apr 9, 2010 2:00 PM EDT up reply actions

I wonder how many of us run both at the same time…anyone besides me?

by supermarioelia on Apr 9, 2010 2:01 PM EDT up reply actions

I’ve got both, but I’ve also got two monitors (and am “working” right now too, to boot).

*sigh*

by zempf on Apr 9, 2010 2:02 PM EDT up reply actions

Two monitors is sooooo 1998. I’m working with three monitors here. I can play tetris like nobody’s business.

by gte619n on Apr 9, 2010 2:03 PM EDT up reply actions

I’ve got both. I usually throw the game on my TV, but my new apt setup hasn’t settled itself out for that yet.

Probably doesn’t help, but oh well.

It’s a new season, so here’s the yearly tradition of that classic Rod Allen clip:

Steel Nick

by nickjs21 on Apr 9, 2010 1:09 PM EDT up reply actions

Very odd comment. Huff was drafted in 2006 but made only 15 starts prior to 2008.

His progress to the majors was brisk by any standard. How many big-league starters have only 48 starts and 253 IP in the minors? That is basically identical to what Sabathia did.

Here’s a question… why are the games on MLB extra innings not blacked out for me, but when there is an Indians game on ESPN (not against the Yankees), the game is blacked out?

Is it just because MLB extra is free right now? Can they do that?

by inferno on Apr 9, 2010 1:08 PM EDT reply actions

blackouts are if they’re playing the team in your market, or fox saturday day games.

by Brick. on Apr 9, 2010 1:09 PM EDT up reply actions

Cleveland is the team in my market. Cleveland at CWS was blacked out for me on Monday. But, Wednesday and Thursday it was not blacked out on MLB xtra innings preview.

You may well know David Huff from his seventeen albums with David & the Giants, a pioneering Christian rock band. The legendary singer/songwriter of David & the Giant’s fame, continues his musical journey with solo projects. David Huff never dreamed of all the things God had in store for him. Even after the culmination of David & the Giants in 1998, David Huff continues to see God’s plan for his life unfold as he fulfills his charge from God, “Keep on singing. Keep on singing my song.”

I am deeply concerned with the bottom portion of our lineup. I want Carlos Santana up yesterday. Am I irrational?

no man, i’m right with you.

If you don't respect Aaron Laffey, I will fight you.

This is the first time we’ve had to deal with a real catcher since 2003.

i think we can give marson at least a month. he’s not without pedigree

by Brick. on Apr 9, 2010 2:08 PM EDT up reply actions

I get this – but I’m willing to wait for a little bit more so we get another year later.

Although with that line he put up yesterday? I want it a bit more NOW.

I just want to believe.

The silly At Bat twitter feed has a tweet about the Tiger Woods airplane, and another bemoaning the Indians loss to Mumbai.

Nice Redmond. Of course, the negative of that is that if that throw is anywhere near the bag he’s out by like 15 feet.
