Yes, I know. And obviously Reyes also was not signed to pitch in Triple-A, since he was added to the 40-man roster and is out of options.
So again, I ask, how is this worse?
This is worse because Washburn would bump one of our five current starters our of the rotation. Reyes isn’t currently doing that. If Washburn wants to take a minor league deal, fine… then this isn’t worse.

Pitcher attrition is such that I wouldn’t worry about having six starters for five slots at this time of the year. Think of him as insurance against ever having to throw a guy like Tomo Ohka out there in August.

and 10.50 from that point on.

Is this just Tim Brown taking up John Heyman’s slack as Boras’ mouthpiece? Washburn has already turned down an offer from Seattle. I can’t imagine us offering more then they reportedly did.
