Around SBN: Bill Stewart Dead From Apparent Heart Attack

Indians placed INF ANDY MARTE on the 15-day disabled list with a non-baseball medical issue. OF TREVOR CROWE recalled from AAA Columbus.

[UPDATE]: Hoynsie (via Twitter) says that the non-baseball injury is (I kid you not) "an infected ingrown hair on his stomach." (Ryan)

From Hoynsie’s Twitter, I kid you not:

Andy Marte had surgery because of an infected ingrown hair on his stomach and was placed on 15 day DL. 5 minutes ago via txt

Uhh, that could be the most random cause for a DL stint I’ve ever heard of. Oh, Andy.

DC United has a starting midfielder on the DL right now with a MRSA-infected ingrown hair.

Next up for Marte: a really, really bad case of MRSA – courtesy of the Cleveland Clinic.

infected ingrown hair on his stomach

Um, can’t say I can identify what disease process this describes.

Unless he means abdomen. Ok, I think I understand now.

Ya gotta learn to talk like the patients there young doctor.

I once had a 95 y.o. female patient tell me she had a sore throat that “went to (her) nerves” when she was a child. Any guesses as to what that was?

Rheumatic fever with Sydenham’s chorea. Had a ticker that sounded like it was running on steam.

Oh and before you say anything, yeah, 80 years is a long time between the chorea and symtomatic heart disease. What can I tell ya? Maybe she forgot to read Harrison’s.

Don’t I know it. I had an aunt yesterday describe her arrythmia as her “heart wires falling down and crossing”

Crowe starting tonight. Sizemore gets a rest.

USSChoo interviews Crowe and 4 days later he’s called up and starts a game. Coincidence? I think not.

If you believe it's just a game, you're also probably wondering why Santa keeps skipping your house every year.

He’s not on the roster. It would have been a huge surprise.

Grady is hurt. I’m telling myself this because otherwise I am worried.

You’re not worried if he is hurt?
