Minor league roundup thus far (because it’s that time of the year):
- Carrasco on the mound for Columbus, 3 shutout so far, 1 H
- Solo HRs from LaPorta and Josh Rodriguez
- Four shutout for Scott Barnes so far in Akron, 1 H, 5 K
He’s 3-3 now with 2 HRs, a single and 4 RBI. Weglarz is 2-3 with a double. CC has 6 shutout, 7 K, 2 H, 1 BB. Scott Barnes also has 6 shutout, 2 H, 0 BB, 9 K.
Strasburg is represented by Scott Boras. Instant dislike.

I was actually thinking earlier, but opted not to say it aloud, but why not here: How many of the dumber talking head ESPN-types would have pulled in the reigns even a little bit on the praise they gave to Strasburg if the Washington offense had failed to score after the first inning and he was tagged with the loss? Undeniably, I think quite a few of them would have pulled back a bit, and that is ridiculous.
Yep, had the same thought.
MASTERSON. And getting out the guy he was traded for!
Also! TAKE THIS, Random tweet I found earlier.
Armando Galarraga gave up a 420-foot drive to Mark Frickin' Grudzielanik.
Hahaha. Another tweet of his:
“@LetsGoTribe Also glad that you knew the sarcasm in that specific tweet since you know me and all. Nice work. YOU make Indians fans look bad”
Take THAT, Andrew! You’re a jerk! We’re all jerks!
All it takes is about 15 seconds reading his blog to figure out whether he was being sarcastic about this.
I love his confidence about how Shapiro preferred Buchholz over Masterson. I’ve mentioned a few times about how overrated Buchholz has always been, but nobody is going to prefer Masterson over him.
Upon your mentioning his blog, I pulled it up. I skimmed and got to where he praises Grudz and pegs him as a legit major league starter.
Sadly, people like that aren’t willing to listen at all. They are so convinced they are right.
Nothing bothers me today. My 7 year old filled me in on how her softball teammates got mad at her at the end-of-year party because she told them it was stupid that they were all Red Sox fans. As she put it, “when they start losing, who will they like then, the Stupid Yankees?”

Why do annoying douches fall back on some variation of “I was only being sarcastic” when their inherent douchiness is pointed out?
PF+ of That Random Twitter Guy nears 100.
We’re not even really trying to build our Twitter count.
Page views this week nearing 40,000. I feel okay about our popularity.
That’s always the escape card. “You don’t get me! I was being sarcastic!”
No, he wasn’t. What is the point of even trying to delve into the world of sarcasm if you’re unfunny to begin with? Someone looking to get into shape doesn’t sign up for a marathon.
I also like that he called Andrew/LGT in general “ignorant”. That is such a lame word people online cling to when they feel attacked. “You’re just ignorant”.
I was actually just thinking yesterday, “Remember when ICP was really popular for 8 months? What a weird time.” That’s going to be how everyone looks back on the Susan Boyle craze in 5-10 years.
Tack on another shutout inning for CC, too. 7 IP, 0 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 9 K. Between Masterson, Carrasco and Barnes, this is one good pitching day for the organization.
I’ve done my very best to avoid ever watching Red Sox games since last summer, so it felt really weird watching Victor playing catch in a Sox uniform before the game Monday night.

I’d really like to get this run home. Make it so, Anderson Hernandez person!

Four leadoff men on in five innings? A first-inning run? The Crowe flies? Who stole my Indians and replaced them with this… this… competency?

He can be inducted in the IL HOF the same week as JORDAN BROWN.
Armando Galarraga gave up a 420-foot drive to Mark Frickin' Grudzielanik.
A tragic story Jordan Brown is. A man filled with unlimited talent and potential that was never realized. He was never given a shot. He was never given a chance.
Jordan Brown is all of us. Jordan Brown is none of us. Jordan Brown is. Jordan Brown isn’t.
Jordan Brown wasn’t. Jordan Brown ain’t ever gonna be.

Tweak it to Gator MaTola, and I’m calling this a Final and Official Nickname.
Yes, it’s even displacing Vanilla Thunder.

I’m liking this nelson fellow.

Hambone (on how bad injuries can be): “The Red Sox have a $160MM payroll, and in a tight game are bringing in Boof Bonser and Joe Nelson.”
Aaaand Crowe gets the stinkpalm for making the first two outs.

This is a dream. 1.) Game threads never start in the third inning (thanks vbc3). And 2.) Everything else. Or an internet hoax.

You know, even if we had usual sucky Masterson who walks six and gives up six runs, we’d still maybe be winning. Spooky game.
Dude is gonna destroy AAA. You watch.

I hope he’s good and pissed about being sent down. He needs to tear it up down there. From a player his age, nothing less than that would warrant a callup.

All three Indians teams above A ball (ML, AAA, AA) won in shutouts. Not one pitcher allowed a run above A+ ball.
Can’t wait to get home tonight and watch that 8th innings.

I’d like to happily sign up for some humble pie RE: Masterson in the pen. I never would’ve thought he’d piece together a game like tonight. Love having him stretch out for a complete game shutout! This game is secretly HUGE.
