Hey ... it's Josh Tomlin! He gets the call over Carrasco, Huff and Gomez to make Tuesday's (spot?) start for Laffey against the Yankees. Tomlin has charged up though the system largely unsung and unranked, and he's been the poster boy for "Net." He produces neither a great K rate nor a great GB rate, however, so there's some skepticism as to what he'll be able to do in the majors. It is worth noting, however, that he's spiked both of those rates in July, rising to 8.89 K/9 (normally around 6.00) with 47.3 % groundballs (usually in the high 30s).
