So which do you think was better Broussard for Choo or Fermin for Omar?
Resident LGT results-oriented boob.
Tough call. Omar was such a good fit for that club, but if we’re going to look mainly at a six-year window, Choo is probably the more valuable all-around player.
For me as a fan? Have to go with Omar. I love watching a great arm in RF, but hell, man … Omar.
Just don’t tell Keith law that

Re: Choo’s BABIP
At what point does this stat quite being a detriment when talking about him and instead one that people hold in awe? Doing it for 3 consecutive seasons (albeit not FULL seasons) has to eliminate some of the “worry” of whether he can keep it up.
In looking up some stats for this topic, I noticed his BABIP has been .500 for the past month. Crazy.
BABIP is a skill for hitters, essentially a component of having a high batting average.
As a stat, it’s very unstable, so there’s always some doubt in there. But unlike for pitchers, who at the major league level basically will always regress to the league mean, hitters have their own individual “true BABIP” level, though it’s hard to discern over less than three seasons. Choo is legitimately a high-BABIP guy.
