Gah, if they’d play the ALDS with only one off day, they could have avoided playing into November. Heck, why not play the ALDS over five straight days, rewarding the team with the deeper pitching staff.

Good.

I was pretty exhausted by the end of the ALCS in 2007. I’m glad that the 3rd Cleveland World’s Championship won’t cut into my daily routine in the 11th month of the year.

This story makes no sense. If the World Series only takes nine days to play, then it would have been done by Oct. 30 even had the regular season started on Sunday, as it usually does.

162 = 2 * 81
81 = 3 * 3 * 3 * 3

158? That’s just 2 * 79, and 79 is prime! Ugly! (Yeah, I know, 154 wasn’t much better. Progress!)

After they added the post-season off-days in 2008, the Series has been starting on a Wednesday. I guess TV likes the off-days and more games in weekday prime time.
