Now that Sheets needs surgery, Westbrook’s value continues to climb.

Yeah, I’m guessing both Westbrook and Kearns get moved before the deadline, and Wood will go as soon he’s healthy (though there’s no hurry since he’ll pass through waivers). Carmona stays, R Perez stays.
The Mets don’t want to give up prospects AND pay Ted Lily’s remaining $4M salary. The Astros are asking for the moon for Brett Myers,so the Mets are looking elsewhere. Perhaps Westbrook will find a home in New York, whether it be the Yanks or the Mets.
Also, Piniero just went down for 6-8 weeks with an injury. I’m not sure the Angels want to give up more prospects for Westbrook, but it’s clear the Indians are willing to (and should be willing to) take lower-level guys and eat salary.
I hope Jake doesn’t get sent (back) to NYY.

Apparently they were ready to give up prospects for Derek Lee, but he turned it down. Angels seem like they will do anything right now.
In the new Geico commercial, Marte sings "Let me be myself" on Wedge's front lawn (with the cavemen).
