Target Field Road Trip July 19-21
My 14 year-old son and I embark on our summer baseball trip next week. We will be attending the Indians games in Minnesota on July 19-21. Any other LGT posters going to be at any of the games? Or anyone with any Target Field advice?
Our trip starts with a Phillies-Cubs game at Wrigley on July 15, then off to Dyersville, Iowa to visit the Field of Dreams. Weekend in Des Moines with friends (Arena Football but no Iowa Cubs home game). After the Tribe series we tour Lambeau Field and catch the Nationals - Brewers at Miller Park on July 23 before heading home - although we might stay for the Saturday game in Milwaukee depending on the Nationals pitching rotation.

We are just glad he isn’t pitching Friday night when we will be there.

Looking like Strasburg is lined up to pitch in DC August 1st, when I’ll be heading up to see the Nats and Phillies. The boy wanted to celebrate his 11th birthday in a major league ballpark.
Might get to see Ben Francisco on his birthday!

Um, yay, I guess.
If the Nats trade for Andy Sonnanstine to pitch out of the bullpen, I might even seen Ben hit a HR.
After their careers, they’ll barnstorm the country together.

I thought the Washington Nationals traveled around with the Globetrotters, no?

Thought we had a chance at the sweep today. Sat in the Twins Legends Club the last two days – very nice – and the air conditioning in the Club was nice today as our seats were in the sun until the seventh inning.
Overall a very nice park – clearly there is a buzz in Minnesota similar to what we had in the 90’s with the new park. The staff at the ballpark was very nice and accomodating. Most of the fans were ok – although a few were a bit testy after the Tribe won the first two games. We saw several Tribe fans throughout the series.
As for the Tribe – this would be the first time all year I watched three consecutive years – the team is a lot more fun to watch now than they were in April and May – I did find myself looking forward to Santana and LaPorta’s at bats. Will try to get a few pics up when we get back home.
I watched three consecutive years
The season has felt this long at times, but not lately.
