Indians left-handed reliever Tony Sipp: "I think he's a young pitcher who has a chance to be more than a left-on-left guy. He can get right-handed hitters out, too. I could see him developing into a nice set-up man as he gains experience."

Also from Perrotto’s notes:
The Indians are leaning toward hanging on to right-hander Jake Westbrook because they want the veteran to serve as anchor for their young rotation.
Could be posturing. A couple of points. First, the Indians have an interesting schedule between here and the trade deadline, playing Tampa Bay twice, the Jackasses, Jays, Tigers and Twins. The Tigers currently project to 90 wins, if you round up. Tribe is 7-5 since LaPorta came back, apparently healthy, and they put out a Valbuenaless-infield. If they hold their own over the next three weeks, does the FO begin to think that 2011 is worth spending money on?
And second, Carl Pavano was Jake a year ago, putting together a reasonable year after some lost seasons. Twins signed him for 1 year/7 million; note that his 2009 K/BB rate is more than twice Jake’s 2010 rate. Interest in Jake seems tepid; I wonder if the FO would prefer a $5M Jake in 2011 over a 410K CarCar?
Kerry Wood: Contending teams do not consider him closer-worthy but are intrigued enough to try to acquire him to help in a set-up role if the Indians eat at least part of the approximately $5 million…
Also Perotto.
The Yankees already have a RH set up guy who regularly implodes.
