2 K’s. Huh. Also, the big hawaiian in the three-spot. Every time I hear about Kansas City’s incredible farm I want to believe but man they have a way of being miserable.
So he has his good stuff today?

Is his walk problem just never going to go away?

As I was tweeting, he’s really not very good. The ERAs are deceptive this year because run scoring is so far down. We’ve found out that, maybe, he’s back to a level comparable to a good Paul Byrd.
Well, fantastic.
I guess we should be happy he’s not pitching like 2008-2009

That list goes to show that seeing a lot of pitches isn’t always related to being a good hitter. See Peralta, Jh. On the other hand, there are 5 Red Sox, 4 Yankees and four Rays in the top 40 (and one current Cleveland Indian). I suspect that TEAMS may be the more meaningful unit of analysis for this statistic.

Brett Gardner, right? He did lead in that category for a while.

You saw where I was going with this, though. He does see quite a few right?
I guess that’s not an inherently good thing.
The only real conclusion I can draw from his numbers is that he’s seeing more hittable pitches in the minors, which is an intuitive assumption anyway. I guess it’s a good thing that when the pitches are harder (meaning, of major league quality) he’s laying off instead of hacking.
Except that stupid outside pitch.

I do not understand the NFL. Antonio Bryant is signed for $28 million, only 8 of which is guaranteed (the whole guaranteed thing makes zero sense to me) and then is cut five months later. He also made like ten million because he was tagged a franchise player?
So, a guy who’s not able to make the Bengals gets paid $18 million and everyone just moves on?
Someone who understands the labor issues better than I do could speak up, but it sounds like things are about to get ugly.

So I’ve heard. I just don’t understand the point of the contract structures nor do I understand how players are valued.
This. Especially when players I think of as superstars are traded for 3rd round picks, and everyone’s cool with it.

Hammy: Bob Feller admitted today that he is being treated for leukemia.

Didn’t Ambiorix Burgos kill a lady with his car? And now this? He’s, um, not having a great post-baseball life.

How many times have we heard growing up that you don’t give pitching legends like Bruce Chen any kind of lead?

I’m trying to decide whether to finish watching this game, which is at least moving quickly, or DVR it and watch in the morning. On one hand I’m nervous about the possibility of messing up my sleep just to watch us get dominated by Bruce Chen. On the other hand, MLB TV really doesn’t work (it constantly resets back to the beginning of the game, and then it’s a pain in the ass to get back to where you were – at least with my internet connection), so I don’t want to put myself in an unpleasant position tomorrow having to fiddle with the thing. But then on the other-other hand, I don’t want to not watch any games at all tomorrow, which is the boat I would be in if I finished watching live.

So now laporta’s hurt again? DL trip? rest in the offseason?

Not to get down on the guy, but I firmly Rob Bryson will contribute more to the big league club than LaPorta will.
No matter how good Bryson actually is, that’s a really bad thing for us if it’s true.

Why did Acta run Carmona out for another inning? He’s toast.
