Indians sign C Michel Hernandez to Minor-League Deal
Hernandez played with Akron and Columbus last season after the Indians signed him in early July. He'll probably share playing time in Columbus with Luke Carlin in 2012, though that all depends on whether the Indians move Chun Chen to AAA.
The minor-league contract also includes an invitation to major-league Spring Training.

Anyone else expecting to see a trade involving a reliever or a reliever/infielder package this week? I believe the 40-man roster deadline for the rule 5 draft is this Friday.
I should add…I don’t think this would necessarily be a “big” trade; more likely a trade moving a secondary part for a minor leaguer not in need of a 40-man spot.
I am really hoping for something… For no other reason than I really like to think about the Indians over the winter… Some new factor to consider when looking forward to the next year and the eternal hope that each year starts with. That being said, I am hoping for a little bit of the trade market, coupled with the exploration of some of the non traditional free agents/international players being considered.
