Around SBN: Despite Relocation Drama, Coyotes Overcome Adversity

Broxton has struggled over the past two seasons, seeing K's decline and BB's increase. This has been attributed to injuries/overuse, and Broxton did not pitch after May 3 last season.

The Royals bullpen is already filled with guys who throw hard, although there are control issues there as well. If Broxton is anything near his peak form, it could be a real strength for Kansas City. It will be interesting to see what happens with Joakim Soria, the Royals stalwart closer who has seen in a decline in performance but is still a valuable asset due to a team-friendly contract.

$4 mil seems a bit pricey for KC to throw at a semi-broken, set up guy. I guess if he turns in a good season, though, it’ll seem “genius”.

Fear the Fedora.

This smells like Scott Linebrink to me, which is good news for the Indians.

Wonder if the Royals are entertaining trading Soria (they should.)

Bold move for the Royals, I feel.

Matt LaPorta is the bane of my existence.

Yeah, very interesting. If he’s healthy and effective, that bullpen is going to be scary.

With this move the Royals have got to be considered World Series favorites.
