Was told couple weeks ago Rondon suffered a "setback." Don't have details. Could be DFA candidate. Roster at 41.
Bastian on twitter. Pretty depressing.

Slightly more seriously, I think/hope the Indians may be increasingly incorporating volatility in pitcher development into how they handle pitchers in the system. Pitchers blow up, the best way to handle them is to get as much out of them before they blow. We have seen over the last several years both a more aggressive promotion regime for pitchers and a willingness to trade young guys like White/Pomeranz/Gardner for a pitcher with a longer track record of health. I would be open to the Indians being even more aggressive with pitchers, and basically promoting them to the bigs as soon some portion of their repertoire, even if their entire set of pitches, seems major-league ready.

Especially in non-contending years.

So, whattya think, does 2012 fall into that category?
Our best players wear suits.
Didn’t say that at all, I don’t believe. Just considering the past couple years (2009 and 2010) were certainly the right points in time to be pushing guys, since it certainly wasn’t going to help our W/L record or matter.

Not saying you implied one thing or another. All I’m asking is this: do you think the Indian’s will contend next year or not? Personally, I’m don’t like the Indians chances of winning it all next year..

At the time of the trade, my dad said to me, “The Indians must think something is wrong with these pitchers. What do you think it is?”
I said: “They’ve risen in value recently. That makes them inherently flawed.”
So predictable. Never get attached to a pitching prospect. Yes, I mean you all your Pomeranz lovers.

Really?

It will be triple reversed into a wrinkle in the fabric of our universe and one of us will become Pomeranz. Likely, whoever among us is already missing an appendix.
Matt LaPorta is the bane of my existence.
