Aramis Ramirez to MIL
Was never a realistic option for Cleveland, but will be interesting to see what he gets and how that might affect market for RH power.

The Tribe would definitely be buying low. McG was a train wreck at the plate last year. And I’m guessing he’s a skillet at 3B, but haven’t watched him play much.

When he was at his best in ‘09, McGehee hit a high number of line drives, 21 percent to be exact, and more flyballs than grounders, 40 percent compared to just 38 percent. As that ratio has tilted in favor of groundballs, McGehee’s overall performance has turned for the worst. His line drive rate dipped a little from 2010 to 2011, but the sheer number of grounders — 50 percent this season — is what turned him from second division starter to waiver wire passover.
Maybe Willie Mays Hayes can teach him how to hit flyballs

The real question is how much better is Cuddyer than Willingham? I can see why the Twins would prefer Cuddyer over Willingham but the Rockies? No way.

Actually, it seems Ramirez is horrible at defense. Hmm and all these years I thought he was an elite defender.

I’d have to think that Chisenhall is going to be the exclusive 3B. That throws out the defender and positional advantages. I think once you account for the parks they played in, and that Willingham was in the AL last year, the difference between the two of them at the plate is fairly negligible. Ramirez is more valuable because he can play 3B, but that’s not something we should be paying for.
