Rule 5 Draft: 10am
Tony Lastoria has a nice preview of the Indians players likely to be considered in the draft. "Vlad" at Bucsdugout has a great preview of other players available in the draft. My prediction is the Indians lose two pitchers, take no one, none of it with much consequence.

Pujols to Angels for +$250M/10, full no-trade clause. No doubt he’ll be the best 42-year old(ish) DH ever.
Gotta figure it absolutely does.

He’d be a damn good fit at 1B. Damn good.

Whoops, didn’t see you guys discussing this before I fanshat it (that’s the past tense form, right?).

Looks like the offseason got much more interesting. I wonder if Prince Fielder is going to land in St. Louis now.
Seems like the Indians need to take a shot at an AAA outfielder though in the AAA round.

That Bucsdugout guy actually got 6 of the rule 5 guys drafted right (if I’m counting correctly), which seems absurdly good prognosticating
@Joelsherman1 #Yankees close to signing 1-time big #Indians prospect Adam Miller to minor lge deal. RHP was derailed by finger issues. Yanks see as rlvr
nothing official, but hearing they’re close is enough to make me sick. he’ll have earned his twitter handle, that’s for sure.

I can’t begrudge this guy anything, even signing with New York (AL). His career was derailed by a freak injury, possibly caused by poor medical advice (if you believe Chuck). If he can make an extra 10K by going to New York (or anywhere else), then he ought to grab it.
Now, if it comes out that he went to New York for less money because he believed in the Yankee Way, that’d be a different thing.
Honestly, isn’t signing with the Yankees something of a desperation move for a guy in Miller’s position? Not good with pitching prospects, not good with rehabs, not known for giving opportunities to unproven guys. He may not have had other options.

Well, if a bunch of guys offer you 0 apples and then I offer you one apple, is that receiving an extra apple?
I guess not. Caught me.
Can’t believe the Angels didn’t take anyone in the rule 5.
