Jordan Bastian sets the stage for this spring's games by going over the battles for the few open positions on the roster. With the signing of Chad Durbin, it looks like the rotation spots are more or less set, but given how bullpens tend to go, a good showing this spring should pay off soon for a reliever going to the minors. Alex White and Zach Putnam should appear in today's game, along with a bunch of major-league relievers.

Shin-Soo Choo will sit out today's game with "mild left elbow soreness." He should play in Monday's game, though.

LGFT Franklin Gutierrez has been sidelined with a mysterious stomach ailment. He suffered through the same thing mid-way through last season, which could have had something to do with his offensive fade.

Speaking of former Tribe outfielders, Jody Gerut retired today, citing a lack of passion for the game. He's 33 years old.
