Jeanmar Gomez called up, Buck optioned to Columbus
In reality, of course, Gomez replaces Talbot, who was placed on the Disabled List two days ago, while Buck loses his spot to Grady.
Gomez has a 1.42 ERA over two Triple-A starts this season, with 11 strikeouts and three walks.
Assuming Buck stays in the minors for at least 20 days this season, this is his last option year. There is no service time-related reason to send him down or to delay his return to the majors.

Looks like Scott Barnes called up from Akron to take Gomez’ spot in the Cbus rotation. He’s listed as pitching there tonite. No word on who takes his place in Akron, but I assume it will be Espino/Berger.
Those hoping the dominos would lead Pomz to Akron sooner rather than later will have to wait a little longer I think. He’s starting for K-Tribe tonite in any case.
He seems like more of a finished product though.

With the way this year is going – I expect nothing less than a QS.
I just want to believe.
