Around SBN: Watch Out For Cowboys UDFA Tim Benford

If you click on each player's link, you will be directed to what seems like a dated scouting report for that player. I say that because I can't understand why Bauer and Bundy are rated ahead of Cole right now. Hultzen makes sense due to signability; but neither Bauer nor Bundy will be signing for cheap, and neither is the finished product that Cole is nor do they have his upside.

Digression aside, Law has the Tribe taking Gray right now. Again, I am hoping the scouting report they have on him is old because it's really quite depressing for the 8th pick in what is being called one of the deepest drafts ever. Flat 55 grade fastball, with a work in progress changeup, even with a knockout curveball, was not what I hoped the team would here. Here's to hoping Bauer somehow falls.

Cole is a beast. Glad I’ve got to see him pitch a bit out here. I’m convinced Law has it out for me and every team I’m affiliated with. It’s on, Law.

BA’s latest mock has us taking Bauer, but I’ve seen us taking Jed Bradley, Francisco Lindor, Alex Meyer and others in various recent mocks. I think the Tribe probably already has a fairly firm short list, but the actual rankings will change a lot within the top 15 over the next couple weeks.

I think they’ll go for a college starting pitcher like they have the last couple years, and I hope they get Bauer.

If Bundy by some miracle falls, they would break tradition and nab him.

If Bubba Starling is drafted by Cleveland I will be miserable for the rest of my life.

Personally hoping for a bat but there really are not alot of impact ones in this draft according to the so called experts.

George Springer of UConn will be available at #8, good 5 tooler w/ a lot of upside, but I think it’ll be a college arm for us, with outside shot at Dylan Bundy if he falls. But I’m not sure they’re willing to deal with his contract demands.

The only other position player I can see them choosing is the HS shortstop, Francisco Lindor.

I trust this drafting team – we’ll get a good one. The top 10 depth is quality.

I’m just worried that Bauer, Bundy, and Meyer will all be gone by the time we pick. Not a fan of Gray.

I support the “go with the best player available” approach. Organizational need at the MLB level should not be considered.

Where the pool is weak, there’s a significant chance what talent is there will be over-valued by the market, since it only takes a few clubs to cause such a tilt.
